Hey guys, just a quick heads up that the race will most likely be rescheduled for a later date due to a late opening of the track.

We have few options, and this may get moved to a Sunday. Hopefully a Sunday is not a show stopper. The good news is that there is a Saturday Street car event, so you could get twice the racing action and get to see some insane Outlaw radial and 10.5 action with cars running low 4's and over 160 MPH in the 1/8th mile.

Here are the potential new dates:

Sunday April 29th (Day after Street Car Shootout)
Saturday May 12th (Day before Mothers day)
Saturday May 19th (would be the best Saturday)
Sunday June 3rd (Day after Street Car Shootout)

Whichever day I'd like to actually take my beast on the track.

BTW Don't think June date is gunna work.

April 29 is a bad day for the local marauders(local meet)
June 3rd is also bad(all ford carlisle)
May 12 or 19 are open dates I believe.

I am happy about this. Gives me more time to get more cars there.

Yes, unfortunately the date will change.

Thanks for all those that voted, and it was a VERY close call, but the new date will be...

    Drum roll please....

The NEW date for the Northern Super Heavy Shootout is:

    SATURDAY MAY 19TH

This was just the best date all the way around as it fits better with almost all other car clubs as well as the ECIRS schedule, and keeps with the tradition of a Saturday night blowout party back at the hotel. The long haulers can then have Sunday as a day of travel and others a day of recovery.

I hope that those that were not able to attend before can now find a way to make it, and I apologize to those that will no longer be able to attend due to conflicts with the new date. Hopefully next year, if there is a next year, we won't have to go through this again because the track work will be done. Also, and to that end, I'll plan it for a little later in the spring as March is just too damn early for most.

Anyone that has already pre-paid that now needs a refund, just send an email to admin@ecirs.org.

You guys truly add meaning to hotel burnouts. I laughed my A$$ off when a family evacuated there hotel room because they thought a major fire had been started. You Impala dudes have a reputation to uphold and you don't let anyone get in your way.

I will be at Cecil as a spectator because my car is down for repairs. So this time Mr. Kahuna I will sit on the side lines and BS with others. Maybe next time we can line up at the tree and the world will be a better place.

Oh, which hotel is everyone staying at? That's where the real party begins.
    Best Western.

Where IS everyone in this thread?

Sherm was at Manassas BK last week and talked about the Northern Shootout. He's cool as a cucumber and should consider changing his screenname to "Ice Man".

    Only Marauder there.

3 or 4 Mark 8's and a crown vic showed up later and my buddy came up with his t bird. There was a trailblazer SS and a SRT Jeep and a drag radial Chevelle that somehow weighed 4k. The Chevelle was the quickest car there 9.xx but ended up breaking a driveshaft before big dog ran.

Car ran well, just need to get something to cool the IAT's down. At the end of the day we where starting at 120-130* and ending up at 170 so couldn't keep the power to go rounds in big dog. Although first round was a good one between Sherm and a guy I've know for awhile from MIR, Nabil. Sherm got him on the light but just couldn't hold him off at the end Nabil won by .046.

We went to MIR friday night to dial in the tune and make sure we didn't have any surprises on saturday. Started out with a shakedown run of 12.5x make sure the AFR was good up to 6500 rpm. Good to go there so went back and added some timing and ran 11.2x at 120. Put some more timing in it and ran 10.97 at 123. Decide the timing was good for now and started adjusting the shift points. Ran a best of 10.92 on friday night car weighed in at 4230 with me in it. I pulled a best of 1.50 60'. Got home and went to bed at 1:30am.

Got up at 5am and headed to Cecil. Sherm ran a best of 10.89 at 125 earlier in the day weighing in at 4180. then the heat soak set in and air temps went up and it slowed to 11.09's. It was consistent. Timing is still a little low so there should be some left in it. Think the best sixty on saturday was 1.54. I have 16* timing in it up top now. It was only seeing about 14 at the top of 3rd from high IAT. Last year we where around 18 at top of 3rd.
