After I joined the Navy and became a homo, I decided to take up photography to keep a photographic record of my experiences. I am by no means an expert, but I do enjoy taking pictures, so I figured I'd share some of the 15,000 pictures I've taken in the last year.

I figure I'll put up a few each week to get caught up, then update as I take more.

For today, I'll post a few of the pictures I took yesterday while out shooting with some friends at the local Cypress Gardens.







Went to the movies later, so I had to grab a pic of the front of the theater.

Cool site, awesome photos. I own my own domains, but I've never been able to find a good gallery type software for hosting pictures. What do you use on that site?

It's still rainy and crappy here, the car is dirty, so I don't have any good pictures of it yet. There will be many car pics when the weather gets better.

Interesting pic this one!

We used to have a few people on the sight that achieved images such as this. Unfortunately, most of us have left.

I am a bit confused however, and would love to learn a bit more in regards to how you captured this image. What baffles me is that normally an image such as this is achieved using a primary macro lens such as a 90 or 100mm f1.8

Viewing your exif info (thanks for leaving it in the image btw), it indicates you shot this at 18mm and f-3.5. You obviously are using the bundled lens for the T1i. It also indicates a 1/25 exposure at ISO 1600!
There is no fingerprint indicating it was altered in CS4 as some of your other offerings.

Question one:
Did you hand-hold this exposure? If you did, you are the steadiest I have seen in awhile...particularly not using a high end DSLR.

Question two:
ISO 1600? Wow...that is serious low noise for the Rebel. I would expect noise out of that camera around 800. The Nikon D3 is the only camera I have ever used that shot 1600 and darn near up to 6400 in that light with that amount of low noise.

Question three:
I must know how that lens achieved that level of distortion and DOF at 18mm / f3.5
My primary 11mm f1.8 has excellent bokah at f1.8, but cannot even do that type of distorted subject, and costs more than the rebel body alone!
I use a primary 90mm f2.8 lens to do what you did up there!

So...please...educate me. Because I am ready to ditch my arsenal of Nikon bodies and lenses and start carrying a Rebel as my daily driver!

No, Sir. I like blue glass. Here are 3 I dug up last year then sold on ebayz.

Yeah, I'd also like to get the whole car in the shot. That's the only thing that really bugs me about it (and the car is dirty). I can just photoshop out the plates if people don't want them there.
