2003 Crown Vic Air Leak

My '03 crown vic started blowing air only out of the defrost.

I look under the hood and I have air blowing out of the box next to the blower motor. Would a leak here cause that problem?

See picture.
Oh I guess you can't upload pics on here....
It is the top metal tube coming out of the box he air is blowing ot of the box at that tube.

I doubt that the air coming out under the hood is the problem. Most likely it's the o-rings inside the EATC that need to be replaced. I can replace them for you.

03 crown vic

I replaced all the orings and made sure they were good.
I get hot/cold and I can all the buttons work on the eatc... i ran the self test and it didn't give any errors.

It almost seems like it is stuck between vent and floor.

'03 Crown Vic Air Stuck on Defrost and Floor

Ok, so my crown vic has the AUTO climate control. (EATC)

Following a post I replaced all the orings in my head unit and made sure they were in properly with a small about of silicon.

I was still getting only air from defrost and floor no matter if I select AC or vents or anything else.

I ran the EATC self test and got no error codes.
I get hot and cold fine... as in it will switch.

The only place I see/feel any air leaking is from this silver pipe coming out of the black box next to the blower motor. See pic attached.

So I am really stumped on what is causing the problem.

Air coming out there isn't a problem.

What kind of silicone did you use?

Did you make sure you put the check valve & springs back in the solenoids and they are in right?

Check the red connector from the vacuum valve assembly to the EATC circuit board. You cab put it on backwards or be off by a pin or two.

Also check the vacuum lines, there may be a disconnected or kinked one.

You might also have a vacuum leak in the engine compartment.

I can't find a vacuum leak and it is really frustrating. I will pull the EATC out again tomorrow and RE-RE check it, I did have the blower motor resistor go out recently.

fastblackmerc and 03mmmonroe do the replacement, and can give you a quick turnaround, I'd go with either of these guys; they'll get you hooked up.

03mmmonroe will only replace the o-rings in person. I will do it in person or via the mail.

I can do it for you, but you need to send the EATC to me.
