Tree sap removal
I tried finding this in the paint/detail section but I didn't see anything. What do you guys recommend using to remove tree sap. I have a cheap car cover from advance auto or autozone and the stuff still goes through it. I plan on getting a california cover soon, but I need to get this stuff off as soon as possible. I have tried Goo Gone before but it seemed to mess up the paint.

Bug and tar remover, WD40, mineral spirits..have all worked for me to remove sap..goo gone really should not have messed up the paint??? all of them will pretty much remove any waxes/polishes so itmay not lookas good as surrounding areas..You have to be gentle with the cloth and not rub too hard.

1 - Don't park under any trees.
2 - Goo Gone, tar remover should work. 3 - Wash 4 - Clay bar 5 - Wax

^^^^^^ What they said. ^^^^^^
I normally use Goo Gone, and it works well for tree sap removal.

I used alcohol-based hand cleaning gel.
Let it sit for a couple of minutes then get a credit card under it. Note that I did this on my old CV...... Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

I use Goo Gone or WD-40. Either works well. The Pine tar is easily removed with IPA (Iso Propyl Alcohol), but the fumes will give you a 15 cent high if you do it in the garage. You must use IPA outdoors, unless of course you are trying to recapture the '60s

They have removed so much of the petrol distil from the tar removers many no longer work. The Citrus based ones are good but they are still working out the formulaes for diif appl, could damage your paint.
