    Drag Shocks

What has been your experience with finding the best drag shock set-up for the Marauder? Do you use 50-50 rears and 90-10 on the front? Is a specific brand preferred? Are there other things to pair with shocks to lower 60 foot times: rear control arms, no front anti-sway bar, etc? I can't get below 1.87 or so, using MT strip drag radials, 3.7 gears and 484 RWHP.

You have been pumping money into this car for years, and have yet to get a timeslip that reflects your mods.

You don't need drag shocks or any other fancy expensive part to get a good 60'. (rear CA's don't hurt though)
Just good tires and a driver mod.

You are right about the driver mod. My son is always faster than me, same car, same night. But since I like to drive it, my two runs (11.91 and 11.92 at 117) are my best. Traction now with MT drag radials is better. With good burn out (line lock) I now stick the tires with no spin.

I have Monroe shocks, 3.7 gears, 484 rwhp, strengthened Trans w/ forced tail shaft lube, Addco rear (and front) sway bar. Tommy control arms and Watts link. I will have time slips this coming Friday at the Midnite Madness runs at Gateway MSP. That should confirm traction, and consistency.

My son thinks I now need to up the power. You had noted earlier that Lidio may have backed off the timing some to keep user error from blowing up the engine. Might be time for a re-tune.

How are you launching off the line? Are you pre-loading the converter or hitting from idle? When I was drag racing I would preload to ~1800rpm (can't remember exactly, it's written on my slips somewhere). I was consistently in the 1.7xx for 60ft. unless I blew the tires off.

I am not aware of anyone with 4:10's running out of RPM's.

Thumbs up Trilogy car goes 12.69 in Bowlinggreen, KY
Just wanted to give yet another awesome update on the Trilogy number-1 car. Jerry has it in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the NMRA race at Beechbend raceway.

As predicted with the slightly cooler air…. About mid 70 degree temps. The car blasted a 12.69 @ 108.6!! This is with only a 1.94 sixty foot.
In TX it sixty footed in the 1.87 range which is very good for a car of that nature on street tires. With 50-60 degree temps and the 60 foots where they should be, I feel that 12.50’s later this fall are totally with in reach. This is all being accomplished with a guy who’s only been down the drag strip two or three times before! Just a simple burn out and then floor it with the shifter in drive when the lights come down.

    Quick recap on the car:

    -Trilogy blower making about 11.8psi
    -4.10 gears
-Nitto 305-45-18’s on widened 18X9.5 wheels
    -FlowMaster 50 series delta-flow mufflers
-custom 2 ¼ x-pipe from the stock four cats back to the mufflers, all other
exhaust including manifolds, cats and tails are stock

The trans and torque converter are stock and the vehicle weight is stock except the jack and spare are pulled for drag racing.

    Thanks

With my Trilogy I went from high 12.4's to consistent low 12.1's overnight by no longer loading it up to just stabbing it right off idle. Every car is different.
