    "New" Pre-Production Marauder Crossover Tube

What you see here: a "new" Marauder crossover tube. This was on a pre-production display engine and sat for the past 18 years. So never had coolant through it, but hasn't exactly been sitting in a box.

    $408 or make an offer

Also have the pre-production valley water tube off the same engine.

$100 (?) or make an offer

Sure someone will eventually. Saw someone sell a used tube for a tic over $300 in another thread, so I don't think I'm far off.

Probably because it's $408. If it was $400 or $399, it'd be sold

Well I actually have the complete pre-production engine. What's interesting is it has 2000 AB casting heads (oval port exhaust) with the production cams that were used in the '03+ 4Vs.

I worked at this Corvette shop for a short time where the owner was a complete hoarder. I was walking through one of the buildings when I had more than 10 seconds to myself and I noticed this sitting on top of a stack of big block Chevys. He wasn't a Ford guy in the slightest, so I asked how much, brought it home. Quit like 2 days later. That was a crappy job with really crappy working conditions. Getting this engine was the only good thing about being there.

Alt # is a CV, GM part number currently. Any more info on what this engine came out of? As far as info we have been able to squeeze out of Steve Babcock over the years Roush was primarily involved with the development of the CAI system.

Eric, according to the Roush engineers and Steve at Chicago MMV they had a few cars as test beds. One of their other projects was converting the car to a manual and came to a conclusion it couldn’t be done without removing a good section of the crash brace under the dash. After the Q&A we met out by my car where both of them climbed in, under, and around with flashlights and were shocked to see an example of one done with zero gutting. Great guys!

    Back to sale!

For both tubes, I’ll give you half of what you paid for the whole motor assembly, and I know what you paid.... lol 😆

Given that, my offer is legit, and you owe me anyhow.......

The only story I have behind it is that it was assembled, sent to I think Total Performance in Dearborn, had a stick welded to the oil pan, plugs glued to the sensors, and then it was used for the show. Near as I can tell, it was never actually in a car. Not a spec of dirt or grime anywhere inside this thing so far. Intake ports, exhaust ports, mint.

Steve is pretty local to me, just a short 15 minute drive up the freeway, so I might try to get in touch with him & show him all this.
