High torque / gear reduction starter for mm?

Probably a good question for justbob, but I thought I'd ask here

Need a starter for recently purchased 2.3 whipple car, what gear reduction starter are you using?

Car has trunk mounted battery 1000 ca 850 cca and it drags with -1 (1 ought) fine strand

Once it's hot it drags more than I'd prefer, so I'd like a high torque gear reduction mini starter.

    Thanks for the help
    The twins2.3 whipple/aluminatorVortech V-2 lots of goodies

No just really tight from what I'm told but maybe Justbob, Zack or Curless can speak up. With my rebuild I was going to put it on anyway but.... since my car has been a DD all its life i did not want to risk the pain of replacing a starter. The stock one fits fine.

High torque / gear reduction starter for mm?

Mine is in post 4. I also have the powermaster cheaper more factory looking version (but a little smaller) in the F150. Both are the same 4.40-1 ratio.

Marauder has a front mounted very small optima at I think 750 CA and the truck has an old Autozone yellow top and both spin STUPID fast.

The one in post 4 is nice because it is clockable on the billet bracket to help fit headers. Will it clear KOOKS? I honestly can not say but I'd be amazed if it wasn't worlds better over OEM. Ain't nothin to even think about if you had S.W.

And yes the retired Jegs brand is Powermaster.

Chances are it's just the starter that is tired. The car cranked at normal speed when I built it

Mine had very tiny corner piece of magnet that broke off and made the weirdest click clack crunch sound for a couple seconds after you let go of the key. It did it for months until I finally took it apart, removed the piece, cleaned up the guts, and reinstalled. Got another couple of years out of it!
