I laugh at my brother for his '11 Prius. He used it for ALL highway driving so the Hybrid aspect is a moot point. At 190,000 miles it wouldn't start. Hmmmm.... Right to Toyota for a $1,830 bill. So much for gas savings.
In about 1988 I had a '79 Celica Liftback 5 speed. GREAT CAR!!! Then managed to score an '84 Supra with a 5 speed and sunroof.
I remember Toyota pickup ads that boasted mileages of 300,000 up to a 800,000 miles.
Toyota really does build appliances in three sizes now.
