The Mustang member organizing the tour is ex-Navy. He volunteers at the Intrepid Museum and Fall River Battleship Cove. What a surprise that he appreciates the lighthouses. They save sailors lives, when the GPS or LORAN fails.

If you lose, you'll need the free breakfast!
In another life, I lived in Rumson, and I remember the Navesink and Sandy Hook lights. It would be interesting to see them again more than 40 years later.

I grew up in Hazlet NJ, about 10 miles before Sandy Hook. Many is the time that I loaded my friends and their surf boads into my mom's convertible and went to the "Hook" The twin lights were our on-shore guide.
I also often rode my horses down to Union Beach and took them into the "surf".
OK.. here is what our Mustang Club chairman has reserved for a hotel:
Days Inn, Pleasantville, NJ 609-641-4500 We reserved several rooms for the tour members, both clubs. Our chairman is Bill McCombs. Standard room fee: $ 89.00

On day 1, Saturday, Oct 20, The Mustangs are meeting at the Cheesequake Rest Area at 8:00 Am and then driving to the Sandy Hook Lighthouse. We will be at the lighthouse by 8:30 Am for their 9:00 AM opening. If going on the tour, you can email me at jimsignorelli@hotmail.com Tell me if we are waiting for you at Cheesquake, or you'll meet us at the 1st stop, the sandy Hook Lighthouse.
Now really... why would you want to put Gray Poop on your food?
Thanks for the update, Jim!
