Does anyone here have any idea if & when Ford will bring back the Marauder? I was at Triology's open house last summer and Steve Babcock was vey coy when I asked him about it. Just curious.

Prob'ly cause he's tired of the question. Last year at Marauderville 1 he said it might be back with the release of the new Panther platform in 2007, I believe.
But, don't hold your breath. If it were up to Steve; I'm sure it would come back. It'll be back if the accountants OK it.
What we need is some guidance. Are letters needed? If so, to whom?
I am sure that us fanatics will do whateve is needed to keep this baby going as soon as someone tells us what the best route it.
Best,
Dan
Folks,
I am sorry to say there is nothing planned for the return for the Marauder that we can determine from Ford. Usually there are rumors or some indications that some activity is going on for a specific vehicle, and as yet, when the last Marauder rolls off the line in June, that is it! So, if you want one, you better get it soon!
All of Mercury efforts are being placed on three new models that are being introduced in the next two years. They are great looking cars, but nothing that is a big rear wheel drive 4 door sedan.
Elena Ford wants a different image for Mercury in the future and she is in the driver seat.
Thanks!
I think they will bring the Marauder name back! But thats all, in name. Look what they did to the Cougar!
Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep and please do not let the all wheeled drive version of the new Montego be badged a Marauder, esp if it has a V6.
Amen
Sad but true!!!! Those that know how to drive, RWD. Those that need help, FWD. Those that need all the help, AWD. I dont need a computer to help me drive.Originally Posted by Silver_'04

Hey, it took 30 years for Pontiac to bring back the GTO, so...I like being 17
2007 Honda Accord V6. Fit for a father of two. 5% tint all around.
I beg to differ. Pontiac brought back a car that they CALLED a GTO. Ain't nothin' like the beautiful old Goats of yesteryear.Originally Posted by woaface

Pontiac didn't bring BACK anything.Originally Posted by Ross

GM never builds anything the way they promise it at a car show.
At least the Marauder is 98% of what FORD promised us.

I even saw one in person at a Cruise night and I thought it was an Accura until I saw GTO and Pontiac symbol on it. What a major let down, leave it to GM to ruin a good old American Muscle Car. I even seen pics of the new Chevelle it is also from Australia and looks to be the same platform.
