NJ Historic Lighthouse Tour, Oct 20-21

On the weekend of October 20th & 21st, the NJ Historic Lighthouse Assoc is running their annual lighthouse challenge.
You start at either Sandy Hook, and work your way south to Atlantic City, and then north along the Delaware River up to Camden. My Mustang club does this tour every few years. It is a blast.

You visit a lighthouse, and collect another piece to your puzzle map. If you visit all of the historic lighthouses on the map, you earn a special piece that says you did it all.

You can also start in Camden and work your way to Sandy Hook.

Go to the Historic Lighthouse Assoc website. My club books hotel rooms in the AC area so we get a good nights sleep for the Delaware side lighthouses on Sunday.

Two years ago, we had 25 Mustangs, four non-Fords, and my Marauder goitg down the street in Sea Girt. A police officer wanted to write us a ticket for an illegal parade. One of our members is a very high ranking superior officer in the NJ State Police. In addition, two members in this parade were police officers in north Jersey communities. After our Sea Girt patrolman saw three badges, two of them gold, he re-thought the ludicrous assumption. I guess he remembered the line from Top-Gun when the Captain of the carrier warned them about a barge full of doggie droppings out of Hong Kong.

Sounds like fun to me too! Already been to a couple of these but would enjoy seeing them again. Looking for great photo ops too.

Looks like a great trip, fellow Bergen County guy.

Wish I could talk my wife into the two of us taking the 03 TBird, top down (I hope; October weather's very iffy in Jersey), and taking the tour.

A group of retro TBird owners are just finishing up a Northeast Cruise that started around Nashville and will be ending in Maine.

(I joined them last weekend at a Saturday night carshow in Lyndhurst, NJ, Whiskey Cafe.)

They are having a great time.

Paula and I are giving serious consideration to participating in the tour, it sounds like it will be very interesting and a lot of fun too. Also, it will provide us another opportunity to spend time with our "Marauder Family!"
