He must have read C+D comments about the Accord vs Marauder

Kind of scary, when thinking of the scale. Makes one think that maybe it'd be a good idea to do some introspection and think about what each of us needs to do to build a solid community, analyze what it is we're all honestly looking for by belonging to this community.

You'd need a Grand National to do that.

An Avalon, that's hilarious. I have already killed cars that are supposed to be much faster than that thing.

And as far as GNXs go, well, if it was to be a fair(in the NHRA sense) race you boys would be compelled to take the turbo out. You never see a normally aspirated run against one that is not. My calculations say your precious GNXs would loose so much horsepower they would CRAWL off the line. Either that or we only compare a blower-top or turbo Merc to the GNX.

I am pretty sure a GNX will have a VERY hard time with a blown Marauder.

fairness

I think that it's fair for anything to race anything. Even with NHRA rules, in bracket racing you race against 8 cyl. cars, 6 cyl. cars, even 4 bangers. Hell, I lost last year to a juiced Volkswagen trike (he ran an 11.4 to my 11.8). Was it fair that I had a 502 and he had a 4 cyl. You bet, that's what our dial-ins were at (he was at 11.3, I was 11.4, I had a bad start, but I think he would have had me anyway). Bracket test and tunes are "run what you brung" type racing. Bragging rights are earned at the track, not the street. An Accord isn't an 8 cyl. car, so he can't run against us? All is fair in love and war. Would a GNX beat a stock Marauder (or even one with chip and gears)? I would think that it would. Is it fair that it's turbo charged, you bet, that's what a GNX is. Would I go against an 8 sec. car? No, our dial-ins are too far apart. Anyone remember "grudge matches" at tracks? Now those were fun. Sorry, just my .02 on the subject.

No arguments here.

I think the point was (before egos emerged) ;"picking ones battles wisely", and NO ONE needs to tell me....

OK, so then it's fine for me to pull up with a blown 'Rauder with chips and 4.10s and rip his lid off. Works for me. For years I was denied bracket racing in my RX-7 rotary because nobody in my engine class could come close. They all whine "unfair"...blah blah blah.

gja,

You're missing my point. I'm talking open test n' tunes to settle people saying "my car is faster than yours". ET's determine how fast a car is, and in my opinion, bragging rights. Open bracket racing is all about consistancy, and making the playing field more even and fun. No ego's involved here, just opinions. I'll be quiet now.

If you knew the guy who owns it...

You'd understand. The weather was bad that night anyway, I'll shut him up another time.
He really is a nice guy, and a good friend, so he has it coming!!
