    H1 HID Installed (DUW)

    The Kit:
McCulloch with G5 ballasts and 6000k H1 HID capsules.

    The Problem:
Fit a square peg in a round hole...

This is the H1 adapter that needed to be "modified"

Left = H1 from Kit, Middle = Stock H1 with adapter, Right = "Modified" adapter with H1 HID capsule

    Before / After shot

    The End Product:

Picture doesn't do it justice but you can see how much whiter and brighter they are. The look soooo much better in person.

The 6000k I got is very white with a very slight hint of blue.
Looks very similar to the lighting on the Lexus IS300....but very tough to tell that by the picture.

    I see the light!

    Looks great man!

Question, Do the benefits outweigh what you had to go thru to make them fit?

    Good Job!

I like the look of that. What inspired HID's in the fogs instead of headlights?

basically you 'sawed off' the base of the adapter, and then drilled out the 'guts', what did you use to marry the two pieces? Epoxy, hot melt glue?

Looks very clean, I'm considering the HID 9007 swap for the headlights... but maybe more like a 4300K.

I might be up your way in early Jan, would love to see those in person.

Thanks all for the kind words.

Hell yeah!!! Great for city night driving.

I like the look of that. What inspired HID's in the fogs instead of headlights?
'Cause no has done it before (to my know knowledge on a Marauder) and I wanted to be different. On top of that, I couldn't justify the hefty price to keep my high beams in an HID kit. Most HID kits are single beam and you lose you lose your high beams. The kit with the high beams are expensive and are not offered in all color temperatures.

basically you 'sawed off' the base of the adapter, and then drilled out the 'guts', what did you use to marry the two pieces? Epoxy, hot melt glue?

Basically, I drilled out just enough so the capsule would fit nicely and just put black silicone to seal out the rest of the gaps. The actual capsule is held in place with pressure from the apapter....not really the custom mount I made.

Drop me a line when you're my way....I'd be glad to show 'em to ya.

Very nice Look! Makes me wonder if the HID kit I have laying around can be modified to work in the Fogs

    Hmmmm...
anything's possible with a little imagination.

How did you pull this one off and what was the total purchase price. I would like to do this so let us know. Thanks,

Basically, you take the H1 adapter, saw off the back, drill out the center enough to fit the H1 HID light, silicone or epoxy the capsule in place and pop it in the stock mounting location. The rest of very simple wiring that comes with instructions in your HID kit.

$275 for the kit with free shipping from Xenonpros.com on ebay.
$4.99 plus tax for a tube of high temp silicone.
    A little patience and time...priceless.

    Marauder2005,

I was looking out on Xenopros and they have H1 blubs in what looks like our stock adaptor. Is this the same one you picked up or is that a different one?

I made my own H1 adapters. Where did you see Xenonpro's H1 adapters?
