My memory may be failing ... but I seem to recall the Upgrade and the Disappearance of the SHOUT Box as two separate but unrelated actions. The Shout Box was still here after the upgrade was completed. It disappeared only a couple days later when rampant abuse and anything goes language started to get out-of-control.

As to the Return of the SHOUT BOX -- I wouldn't give better than 3 to 1 odds of that happening within the next 3 months. Maybe this improves 1 to 1 within 6 months. Time will tell.

Memory is not bad Charlie. I think a soft ware problem started it. It was freezing up all the time. The company that supported it is gone. Plus we all know the rest of the story.

I guess the reason that I am disappointed is that I never participated in, nor really saw, any of the Shout Box abuse that continues to be referenced... Also, I think that Nate's post was not meant to be an accusation at all. It has been alluded that the reasoning behind the Box not being brought back or fixed has more to do with the possibility of continued misuse, and a lack of a way to properly moderate it, than a software issue itself. The lack of updates and communication as to where the software issue stands combined with the recent push for increased decency seems to support that theory. By no means am I trying to "stir the pot" or place any blame on the owners or moderators. I am strictly attempting to start an open dialogue. I may be completely off base and if this is the case, I sincerely apologize. Just my two cents on the matter...

I really miss the Shout Box. I feel out of touch with my peeps. I'm sure it will be back if technically possible. Although Charlie seems to have a pretty strong hunch to the contrary. I sure hope he's wrong in this case.
