Removed and replaced the rear brakes today with Raybestos Police rotors and advanced technology pads... I made sure I lived everything and painted everything black before I installed installed to prevent rust and have that clean look for the next 20,000 miles. Pulled the front wheel to make sure everything was good up front. Then cleaned the interior.

Do you think this might cause a noise?!?
A friend of mine called me to help pull the engine from his 69 Firebird as it developed an internal noise. After disassembly, this is what I found...






Either it had one of those HP 2-piece cranks or we found the problem!

Yes, surprisingly sounded like a rod knock. Thought he spun a rod bearing only to find this when tore down!

Ran outta gas, and walked two miles to the house and put in.cheap 87 two month old, then drove to shell and got octane booster and a full tank of 93

mobil one
changed out the Mobil One for regular ole Ford semi-syn. Result is quieter valvetrain at start-up.
