Zach,

I would love my rear spoiler to look like lji372's. Will you build one for me, sir?
I hope you say yes and specify the $.

Would, could you do it for $500?

Drilling 77 individual holes in one spoiler, ...and installing 77 individual LEDs...
...and WIRING 77 individual LEDs...

I don't blame him for not wanting to.

I wonder if it could be made less labor intensive by carving out a solid area instead of individual holes and using a flexible LED strip.

* A router bit with a custom guide to roll along the top surface of the spoiler should work well.

* Not knowing anything about the internal construction of the stock spoiler.

if you could get that working... there seems to be about $500.00 waiting for you.
Oh, if you need to ask ZacK a question, spelling it right would be good... especially after he made the correction himself.

I made an additional spoiler back in 04 or 05 at the cost of $650 and that wasn't nearly enough.

My biggest hurdle is moisture getting into the spoiler, because 4 huge access holes needed to be cut out of the back. I have had to repair mine once and I don't even drive the car. It happened from washing it.

With the advancement and options of modern day LED lighting, I'm sure an easier method is now at our fingertips.

Sharp thinking. I've never help a Marauder spoiler before, so I can't offer any insight. My Roush spoiler is hard, dense foam/honeycomb covered in fiberglass.

If it wasn't for the outrageous drilling/cutting, I'd take up a project like that. I'm pretty good with wiring & electrical.

I think Zack likes money, but takes a project based on personal satisfaction vs difficulty/reward of the mod.
He has to 'want' to do it.
I'd love mine done, but doubt anyone will 'mass produce' this mod.

I am not sure that selling 20 units to a very limited group of people accross the country would diminish a modded Marauders uniqueness. Maybe if someone started selling to crown vics, this would make more sense.

My observation is if you want one, you are probably going to have to build it yourself or find a local auto customizer to discuss about building. That should be easy for the Cali members..custom builders all over cali. be prepared to pay $$$ wherever you are. Although I do think it looks good, I'm not going to pay $700-1000 for a spoiler.

To rule out any headaches with used bits... I would supply a new spoiler with paint matched to DBP, DTR, Silver, Black. NON-OEM spoiler obviously since they are unobtanium, aftermarket reproduction.

... would it shock you if I said I was 1-2 weeks out from taking orders?:banana::banana::banan a:
I don't remember seeing a price or if you supply repops, we send our lights for the conversion?

To rule out any headaches with used bits... I would supply a new spoiler with paint matched to DBP, DTR, Silver, Black. NON-OEM spoiler obviously since they are unobtanium, aftermarket reproduction.

Good strategy. Plug n play to the brake light harness?
Allows us to return to stock / sell the LED spoiler as well.
I will likey be in on these. Both are nice, modern upgrades.

How do you know no one else has the skills needed? James (limited360) is a led guru as well as FBM. It's not a lucrative project or cost effective for most that's why there is only 2 out there. I could build one if I wanted, I routinely work within .0005 of an inch and can eyeball something .025 of inch out of spec. so don't say no one else has the skill or you might be building the rest of your car by google searches.

just caught up reading the whole thread...Looks like someone is willing to do this if we pay $1000, that includes the spoiler and matched OEM paint. Is that correct? if so I may be in as well. How hard would it be to install the rear spoiler and run the wires to hook up the LED's?

This is just hilarious! If i wanted a spoiler with the led mod i could build it myself, and to an oem looking quality, time after time you continue to put your foot squarely in your mouth, and show just how clueless you really are.

You have no idea of anyone's skill set on this site.

I guess you have never seen the sideview mirrors Limited360 did for Jerry's daily driver Marauder. Check out his projector thread. I would say he is more than capable of doing this project. And apparently he is 200 bucks cheaper! ;)

difficult to jusify, for sure.
I bet the spoiler, and paint to match is ~half the grand - so a nickel to install the LEDs becomes reasonable. For us with no ability to do it themselves....

Exactly... And at $500 that's not many hours of work compared to some people regular income... So has to be worth it to the builder too [emoji7][emoji7]

Would be interesting to have a light bar at the top of the rear window, now this is modern looking.
