2003 marauder, crown Vic, marquis has a chance of soft axles. Could be bearing has worn a groove and has play. Check for axles leak and or additional axle play up and down

Could be worn shocks, bad shock rubber, loose sway bar, broken shock mount, etc.

Better rebuild the whole car.

"Body rattle, Deep thud", sounds like your car used to be a Wise guys car. Did Carmine or Vinnie used to own it?

Early on a lot of us had this problem. Body bolts and bushings seems to ring a bell.

Also:

Check the rear ABS sensors. Some have reported that the bolts are loose and are backing out.

Check the emergency brake shoes.

Ford Parts Dept. I think most of them that had an issue with this was an alignment issue, like maybe the bushing or bolt wasn't centered properly. I can't recall exactly, it's been a long time.

Better rebuild the whole car.

If you keep these long enough that is the eventual result.

If it sounds like a card in bike spokes, i'd go with e-brake shoes.. Mine did that.. Couldn't get the rotor off to fix it though, it's welded on there it seems.. I live with it.

Check your lug nuts ;) And take the case of beer out of the trunk! Or make sure the spare is tight. Not there so its tough to diagnose. Good luck finding your issue. Aren't cars fun?
