For the past several months a bird or birds have been attacking their image in the side view mirrors and in the process droppings mess all over the door and window.
I tied plastic bags over the side view mirrors and now they attack their image in the window.
I purchased a fake owl with an articulated head and it no longer keeps them away.
I haven't seen the bird, but suspect it is a Cardinal.
The only other thing I can think of is a fake snake.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I've seen Cardinals 'attacking' their reflection in our window over the kitchen sink.
They would peck and bang against the window until getting tired and flying off.
After a week or 2 they finally gave up and no longer do it.
Picture of cardinal about to attack it's reflection from a previous winter:

I have had similar problems. I have used two tactics with moderate success.
I would put a sprinkler that would go over the car. When I saw the bird there, I would turn on the sprinkler, causing the bird to fly away. (I didn't want to leave the sprinkler soaking the car for hours, so I kept watch for a few days.)
Another tactic was to put a large birdfeeder with an inexpensive mirror which I put inside. This birdfeeder gave the birds food and an alternative mirror to attack which seemed to draw their attention away from the car.
Hope this helps. :)

% put out something else that is more attractive.
If I could determine what bird it is I would dispatch it with extreme prejudice.

A robin was doing it to my car a couple years ago so I killed it with a bb gun. He was hitting the mirror so hard blood was all over it so I figured I would put him out of his misery.

A child's water gun or "Water Cannon" can do wonders without killing anything or risk damaging the car.

Good suggestion, I thought about a garden hose but the water cannon will be easier.

If you burn the car the bird would leave it alone.

A cat or two. We had a huge problem of yearly, flying south bird nesting. They would crap on everything in piles. A few yard cats fixed the problem along with any other small critters. The birds seem to just know there are cats around and stay away.

I may have defeated this very aggressive bird.
I tried plastic snakes and a pic of an Eagle devouring a bird to no avail.

A neighbor told me he used a glue trap. It worked! Apparently losing a few feathers taught this Cardinal a lesson. I have been told the Cardinal flies around my car but doesn't land.

The Bird figured out the glue trap and avoided it.
So now this appears to be working, time will tell;

Lol! This has to be the most hilarious thread I've read since joining the forum.
I agree with Catfish but fried robin is tasty and nutritious!

I think what happened is when the Coyotes moved in they killed all the stray cats.
The stray cats kept the birds away from our homes and cars.
Good luck trying to kill off the Coyotes.

One time when I was washing my Marauder, I had just finished applying the wax when I hear a flock of geese overhead. I look up to see the whole group turn and strafe my car dropping goose **** from trunk to hood.

Lots have tried and failed.
Ever since I poured a cup of urine along the fence line they have respected my territory and stayed off the property.

You are definitely getting creative there but nothing beats a garage though.
I have bird problems as well, my Mum who is currently driving my Audi works at a clothing store which employee car park is underneath a bunch of giant trees so every time she is at work the cars gets covered in a thick layer of bird crap and since she doesn't take the time to clear it all off the paint is now completely ruined.

You can try poisoning them with ........ LEAD!
This will poision the whole food chain.
1. Bird dies of lead
2. Buzzard eats bird and dies
3. Coyote eats Buzzard and becomes sick...
