This year, my remote starter has not been getting the car started when its really really cold. The car will crank and crank but no fire.

Knowing this, I went to the car to start it on this -6 degree morning...and no start at all. It barely even tried to run.

I had a hunch what it was but hooked the Diablo scanner up to verify.
I knew to look at the ECT and IAT sensor readings.

Yep, IAT was reading 510 degrees farenheit.

Knowing how much I cranked the car, I decided to pull all plugs to let them dry out, as well as the cylinders.
I swapped in a different MAF, re-gapped the plugs and it started right up.

I'm still trying to get warm. :mad2:

How did the MAF cause an erroneous IAT reading? Is the IAT located in the same module?

IAT was 510 degrees? You might wanna park in the shade on days like that...

I guess valid IAT input is why a blow-through MAF is preferred with forced induction.
