It is pretty frustrating when I drive the redesigned Camaro and cannot be excited with it. Then again, that or anything hasn't excited me in a while. They seem even slower now with the same 6.2, although, it is a little smoother which would make it feel slower. The computer won't even let you brake-torque these cars and I don't even want to talk about the new look. On the other hand, the redesigned Prius almost excited me. Probably because I was so disappointed in the Camaro. I can tell I will sell fewer Camaros than ever this year and probably more Priuses than ever. Only highlights I can mention on the Camaro are nice interior accent lights at night and four exhaust modes on the touch screen like the Corvette. Prius...less top-heavy and handles almost really well. The only new vehicle in years that was worth redesigning imo was the 2016 Tacoma. Toyota had me drive one over an 8 or 9' pile of rocks in the rain after driving through wet clay at the speedway in Indianapolis (the colorado and canyon just sat there since they would have broken apart trying to do this). I would take a Tacoma in a heartbeat. Chevy doesn't seem to have a chance at competing with a lot of vehicles anymore, and the couple cars they make in Korea should stay there. It seems all I've been selling anymore are 4Runners, Highlanders, and both Toyota trucks even with a full line of Chevys at my disposal. Rant over maybe.

so you work at a Toyota Chevy dealer? that's a conflict right there
I have sold them all, and what I care about more than the product, is the dealership I work for. Hard to find a good one. You don't have to like what you sell because people buy what they want anyway. I will tell someone I'm uncomfortable selling them the Avenger with 280K miles (how did it make it that far?) and they will buy it anyway. Toyota and Chevy is both ends of the spectrum but it's a good thing. I get the farmers who have never had anything but Chevy and I get the old people that buy hybrid Camrys every two years, not to mention the stuck-up Corvette buyers who tell me about how their '65 behaved above and below sea level while I let them order red calipers on an orange car (I almost puked). I love this business though.

Having once had a '69 SS Camaro, my feelings about the "new" Camaro are somewhat similiar to those I had when I met the hot chick from high school, in a supermarket aisle, twenty-five years after graduation . . .

Ha yes. Beauty is not what it used to be. Even as cars progress through changes, they give up on themselves but add makeup and fake sugar.

The 2016 Camaros are amazing. Same engine in my 2016 Stingray. 460 HP and much lighter then the 2015. The looks are a big improvement as well as the interior.
I assume your trying to be funny about the Prius.
The new Camaro is a Cadillac CTS underneath, the famed GM Alpha platform. I haven't driven a new Camaro, but have driven the CTS. It is an amazing ride.

I still have my 1968 Camaro SS/RS (originally a 396/375 HP...now over 750 HP) for the past 39 years and I love it BUT my 2016 Stingray is just amazing.
Everyone is sentimental about cars they had decades ago but if you drove a first gen Camaro and then you hopped into a brand new 2016 Stingray or Camaro you would understand. I love muscle cars from the 60's to early 70's and spent my life buying and working on them, I am here to tell you they are nowhere close to the new stuff.
Off the show room my Stingray with no mods and stock tires will go 11.37 at good altitude and temp. Gets 29mpg on the highway, 8 speed auto that shifts like a Ferrari and has killer launch control, pulls over 1g lateral and stops so hard eyeballs want to pop out. And comes with a killer warranty.
As far as looks go I think it is amazing.
Again...I have muscle cars and I honor them but you have to appreciate the new stuff ( F the Prius).

I was and wasn't trying to be funny. The Camaro does have a good engine though very restricted for safety reasons of course. I just have a different perspective on cars in general than most owners. I am ashamed of the new 2015 Colorado I sold who's owner wedged pieces of paper in all the cracks in the dash to keep the plastic from creaking but other folks love them. I think it's shameful that new cars go up in price 300 dollars every six months but cut the corners they do. The bad things are not all the manufactures fault. There are more safety restrictions than ever before for the designers to try to work around. Notice the belt lines on cars get higher and higher along with enormous headrests? What was the last sedan I drove that had the visibility of the Marauder? I don't remember. I drive a different vehicle every day, to lunch, to the gas station, to home, just to get to know them. For that reason I get board with everything and a vehicle has to be very special to impress me. Your Stingray is a good car, and I'm sure you are not the typical vette owner I deal with. What color/top did you go with?

Very nice. Same color I would get. The one in our showroom is same but the other black wheels, black vertible top, double black strips, red interior. We might raffle it for the local school. $100 a ticket selling only 1,800 tickets total. I've seen worse odds.

Thanks, I got the red interior.
I might be interested in that raffle.

I'd buy a ticket at those odds... Maybe two. He'll Cam &$)&@ing Newton cost me more than that.

With no mods your Stingray ran that time on OEM tire? That's pretty close to a z06
My car has not been to the track yet...just got it, but here ya go. Time slips are posted on the corvette forum as well.
Bone-Stock on Stock Tires. This means completely stock with no performance changes whatsoever; stock exhaust, stock airpath, stock “untuned” and ""never-tuned" computer (ECU/PCM), etc.
Bone-Stock, except Non-Stock Tires including drag radials. Otherwise, the same requirement as above.
Bolt-Ons without Internal Engine Modification (e.g. modified air-path, headers, PCM-tune, aftermarket clutch, non-stock rear gears, skinny front tires)
Internal Engine Mods plus Bolt-Ons (e.g. stock displacement with bolt-ons plus heads and/or cam)
Power Adders (Nitrous, Turbo, Supercharger) and Non-Stock Displacement

Rule #2. Times that may qualify for the top-20 in each category require posting of an image of the complete time slip. If you lack the ability to post an image, contact me via PM, and I will help you. Edit for Clarification (Sep 3 2007): "time slip" means full time slip. Must include date/time of the pass and customarily includes identification of the track issuing the slip. Image should be in the vertical orientation and the numbers must be legible. Edit for Clarification (Jan 10 2011) A time slip is encouraged for all submissions as a means of improving documentation of accomplishments and increasing credibility of the Fast List.
Rule #3. Track times will not be corrected for weather or track altitude. Those elements can be noted in the comment portion of the submission to clarify the conditions under which the run was made. If interest merits, we can include a single category for fast times at tracks with altitudes, say, above 3000’ for the official track elevation. Please let us know if there is interest in such a category.
Rule #4. All members are invited to submit his/her times on this thread. The top 50 or so for each category will be included in the Fast List. Only one pass per member per car-model per category will be included on the Fast List.
Rule #5. In the event two members submit a 1320’ ET identical to the thousandth of a second, the tiebreaker is the higher 1320’ mph.
Rule #6. (Oct 20 2010): Stating explicitly a rule applied to all submissions since the Fast List's inception, in order for your track results to be included on it, they must be plausible, probable and credible. The time slip must match the capabilities of the car.
Clarification (Oct 20 2010): A car with a tuned (modified file) PCM or a non-OEM PCM is not eligible for either of the two stock classes thereafter. This means once tuned, always tuned.
