My throttle body has gotten pretty disgusting, and I used most of a can of cleaner on it (maybe the whole can), but it doesn't look as clean as it should. I think there's still gunk around the butterfly valve that didn't want to cooperate. Is there a good way to get it really clean? Such as specific cleaners and brushes used in a certain way or whatever? I'm assuming I'll probably have to remove it to get it properly cleaned. You can somewhat see how bad it still looks in the picture attached to the following post...

So, pull it, spray with TB cleaner, and scrub with a toothbrush before the cleaner evaporates?

Yes, spray again after scrubbing to rinse
Ps, don't use toothbrush to brush teeth after. Lol :D

Buy the $1.49 gasket at O'reillys and remove the throttle body from the car first. Use CRC throttle body cleaner and a toothbrush. Reinstall, start up and let idle for 5 minutes for the computer to recalibrate.

Well, I pulled the throttle body, and it was much nastier than I anticipated. Took two bottles of cleaner to get it clean. But after pulling it, I noticed how bad the upper intake looks. How the hell do you get that properly cleaned?
I'm also expecting that I'll be wanting to get some oil collectors on the PCV lines to help prevent this from getting so dirty again.

Wow. That's nasty
I'd get the upper media blasted, WASH WITH SOAP AND WATER to remove tiny grit from blasting, then get it powder coated
You might be able to pick up a used upper cheap, get the work done to it, then sell yours. That way you have no down time
The amount of time you spend cleaning that, you can get it taken care of, if your time=money
I would do the lower too

I have to pull the upper and lower anyway, so I can get Zack's cooling mod installed. It as recommended to take them to a local shop and get them tanked. But yeah, I was also thinking of getting them power coated, probably some sort of silver to keep it looking bright under the hood.
