My Cop, a Sargent with the Shreveport PD, and her shift were manning barricades at the high water points in Downtown Shreveport when she saw a car drive right around a barricade. :nono:
She flashed her overheads and spot light to no avail. The car, with two elderly occupants, entered the water and stalled.
The water began to fill the car up to the drivers chest. My daughter quickly called for help and the dispatcher, detecting the urgency in Kelley's voice, sent out the alarm. Several patrol officers responded, one stripped out of his rig belt and swam to the occupants keeping them upright against the rushing water.
The elderly couple were saved from drowning and the whole crew was awarded the "lifesaving " medal. :cheer:
Cheers,
