I can still remember my older sister getting in trouble for letting me watch Purple Rain with her when I was 10 yrs. old.

Always liked his music, even if it might have been out of place in my collection.
Very talented musician,
RIP.

Never cared for his style of music, but no doubt the guy was talented. I'm still reeling from the loss of Glenn Frey.

The speed at which the "older" artists are passing, you better buy concert tix of your favorite artists before they are called up.

Too true
A reason we decided to splurge a bit and attend Paul McCartney's One on One concert on Sunday in Seattle

I know a young man and his only hobby is following David Bowie and Prince.
He was over at the house visitng a few months back and I put on David Bowie Heroes album on the HiFi.
He will have to get another hobby.
I am not a Prince fan, but I have always appreciated his talent and enjoyed listening to some of his music.
RIP Prince

Same here.
I spun Purple Rain, put it back in the sleeve and put Little Richard back on.
Still, talented none the less.

Ironic that one of the band members who sang that song passed away at a fairly young age.

My first date ever was to see Purple Rain in the theater. That motorcycle he rode was a tiny Honda CB450, which I suppose was appropriate. The camera angles were always down low looking up at His Shortness. But I digress . . .
He was a great musician, I enjoyed his work. It sounds like he may have fallen victim to what started out as chronic pain, a terrible problem to have.
