Is anyone running a program that disable TQ converter lockup until 65 mph in 4th gear such as the chip offered by Alternative Auto? I am interested in finding out the benifits of this in how the car performs vs. the programs most of us are using now?

T/C lock-up has always been adjustable, Tim. Jerry tuned my first MM long ago, locking the T/C after the 2-3 shift at Dennis' suggestion. It's an adjustable feature in EEC software, so, whether you have a Diablo chip, a SCT hand held, Lidio's tuning, or, a Jerry flash dyno tune, T/C lock-up can be adjusted to your wishes. What ever you're using, contact that vendor.
I wasn't sure what this adjustment meant in terms of power or driveability at that time, but I was very dissappointed with the OEM settings. On the highway, when I wanted to adjust my speed by letting off the throttle, the T/C unlocked and the MM would coast until I applied more throttle. This caused the MM to creep closer to the car in front of me, and that was counterproductive. Once I added the Stallion T/C, it only got worse. After this adjustment, the T/C would lock up at any speed, but only after the 2-3 upshift. I like it this way, it allows for engine braking at any speed, and I do not need to brake as often. I can take 30 MPH turns without any brakes at all, and I enjoy adjusting the speed of the MM with "heel and toe" control. I am very pleased with this adjustment to my KB-MS with the tripple plate T/C too, I suggest y'all give it a try.
Y'all...There are different schools of thought on this adjustment, let's not make it opposing thoughts, or, turn this into an opinion war, K? To each his own? At least with the SCT hand held tuner, you can have it setup several ways, and make back to back comparasions to find what works for you.

I like Mac's set up a lot! So much so that I have it....

No war from me Mac :) I pretty much agree with everything you said. The only difference is that I chose to go with a lock up in 4th (overdrive) only at speeds over 60mph. It is indeed personal choice. Either way it makes a huge difference in daily driving.

No problems with the PI TC on lock-up. A well engineering piece of equipment. I wish I had not taken 9 months to decide to get one. When you nail the gas the performance is there. Now my main wish is to meet a 330C and proceed to totally embarass him.

Jerry set mine up similar to Mac's as well. It's all in the programming....anything you desire!

Mine has been like Mikes from the start, It is basically the way that Lid feels works best in our setup.

I am totally displeased with mrsteamropes. She has me off the line, but in traffic, it takes an act of God almost to get it to downshift when you punch it. I hope that someone will bring the goodies to re-flash the chip at Indy. :D

Mine had a terribly "slushy" 2-3 shift with the TC locking simultaneously.....sounded and felt really bad!!! :bigcry:
I really liked Lidio's idea of disabling the TC until 4th gear at higher speeds but not as high as 63 MPH.......I have it set at 50 MPH in 4th ONLY and it is perfect for around town and highway!!!
BTW....after it locks at 50 MPH it will stay locked down to 40 MPH unless you force it to unlock by accelerating.....otherwise it unlocks at 40 MPH allowing engine RPM's to stay up and eliminate lugging and subsequent knocking!!! :D
I think it is the best thing I have done to improve drivability.....so far?? Also, there is no drop in MPG running this program.....still getting around 20 MPG average and as good as 23 MPG highway!!! :bounce:

I have only Jerry's promise on this, but he's never let me down.
Jerry will be in Indy with us for our MV-II event. He will "flash tune" any Marauder vehicle for free, no dyno, no chip, no hand-held. Those features will be available at your expense, but at a discount too. With the famous IRP strip just a few feet away, you can do "before/after" runs to see your improvements on the time slip.
BTW, my last retune from Jerry installing the '04 EEC and dual knock sensors produced my highest RWHP ever, 455. It also produced my lowest MPG too...19.8. Every mod has a trade off, yes?

MAC, is this adjustment of disabling the TQ converter until after your 2-3 shift giving you more power or driving performance?

I disabled TC lockup for 4th gear until 55 mph and disabled TC Lockup for 3rd gear until 75 mph.
I kept the TC locked in 2nd ONLY when I'm WOT (i.e. racing). Once I hit 80 mph in 2nd gear, it'll shift into 3rd and the TC will be locked (racing).
I did this in the comfort of my home w/ my laptop. It's called self-tuning.

Are you using the SCT pro-racer set up to do this?

Yah Charlie is using the Pro-racer package from SCT (Modular Depot). Its a nice program for trips to the track and then swith back to daily driver instead of sending a chip back.

Its easily done Lidio or my self can do it the only draw back is a possible slight millage drop

Dennis, my car is not a daily driver so gas mileage is not a consideration to a great extent. I am anxious to get the SCT Flash Tuner I ordered from you as we discussed having one of the programs like this and I want to try it out. I have a concern about my shift points on the program I am currently running as the car does not seem to know which gear to be in but I'll wait until I try a different program.
