Looking into dash cams

Anyone have some experience with dash cams? I want a 2 channel set up(front and rear) So far supposedly the best 2 channel on the market is by blackvue at $379!!. I once found a 2ch setup for $200 but forgot who made it. Any help please I'm sure $400 is still a small price too pay to protect our baby's and to prove when where not at fault. I also did not know that most have motion and g sensing. Gps wifi etc!! These things are cool

Slickster, Thanks for asking this as I have also been wanting to look into dash cams. For a while I was just using the cell phone mounted on windshield. However, that was very limiting. :argh:

I also want to look at storage media, whether hard drive or memory sticks built into the units.

Haven't had much time to research yet.

I used the FIneVu CR500HD, very nice unit but single channel. I liked it for the optional GPS sensor that overlays your vehicle speed onto the video. Records in 1080P as well, with MicroSD card storage. Overwrites the oldest files once full

I got one on Ebay for $10. Add a 32GB TF card. Works just fine.

Cool choices. Do anyone of these have optional rear cam as an ad on?. Also does any one have speed cam or red light cam alert on there's? How accurate is it

Went with thinkware f750. Retail is $279 without the rear cam that sells for $99. Got one used off eBay for $150 without rear. You can find them on eBay new for around $220. http://www.thinkware.com/Products/Dashcam/F750

SkyEye Mini DV S3000L with uninterrupted cycle recording and two cameras record at the same time. Cost was HK$698 with a Toshiba 8GB Micro SD. That's about US$100.

I do like the F750 and it has some really good features. Thank you for posting what you went with.

While looking at the F750 I see there is a newer version that just came out which is the F770. It cost a bit more new, like $307 Vs. $275 for the F750. The $307 is a promo preorder cost.

Of course then you have the accessories to buy if you want the rear camera, hardwire kit, add a fuse kit, and other mounting options.

Thinkware does not show the F770 on its website yet.

Think I'll wait a bit just to see what else comes out on the F770. Of course if anyone has more to add to this subject I would like to know.
