Hi everyone, We bought a used 2013 Ford Focus for our daughter to drive and it came with a Ford aftermarket remote start.

Looks like this. https://accessories.ford.com/electronics/remote-start/series-100-one-button-w-o-push-button-start.html

When you start it remotely then unlock the door and open the door, the engine shuts off.

I've googled this and can't seem to find a fix. Some have an over ride button under the dash, but I can't find it.

Some talk about Fords My Key.

Just can't seem to find the right procedure.

Wondering if anyone has seen this same thing and found a fix.

Thanks, Curt

My 2010 F-150 does the same thing. The dealer told me they could fix it for $75 or do it for free the next time I brought it in for a repair. I rarely use the remote start on my vehicles so it's been low on my priority list. I actually forgot I even had remote start until I read your post. Let me know what you find out. I'm sure it's a nice feature to have during wintertime up there.

Thanks for the help. I watched both of those videos, but I can't find this master switch/button. It's a small car. Maybe it buried under the dash.
