Just checking here first to see if anyone has any used parts i can buy to fix this DTR i bought yesterday. 10 mph crash totaled it out
I need the following pieces:
1. Drivers side corner lamp
no longer need 2-6
2. Passengers side head light
3. Nose/ header panel What years fit the marauder? Ill check the boneyards here for a OEM piece first
4. I have a grille but the rear plastic tabs are missing, does anyone have grille parts? Id like to use my OEM grille, but might have to buy a cheapy ebay one....
5. Behind the front bumper, in front of the long I BEAM impact bar is 2 black plastic impact / front bumper energy absorbers/ they look like egg carton cones. Here is a ebay link,.. Id like left and right off a marauder, i think the marauder ones are different than the CV or GM...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181758191677?_trksid=p2060353. m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
6. Steering wheel with buttons. Someone here had a GM? wheel that had wood at the top, then another person painted theirs grey...... WHAT CAR did those come from? Id like to give one of those a try, this one looks like they put it in the microwave, its fubar
7. Need 2004 glove box bag and trinkets, operators manual ect
So i was at a car cruise with my marauder and my dad brought his silver birch marauder. Dad went to get the goody bag and a younger fella comes up and said his dad just wrecked his DTR last week, has the chance to buy it back from the insurance.... Gave him my # and came home with the car 2 days later... Its dirty, but its gonna be my new daily....
Minimal damage to fender, hood, and the bumper is wonky cause of the plastic parts i need under it..
They salvage titled it for this:violin:

03 - 05 Grand Marquis header panel will work.
03 - 04 Lincoln Town Car wood steering wheel (the steering wheel buttons have a different surrounding color) or
03 - 04 Grand Marquis wood steering wheel or
03 - 04 Crown Victoria LX (fully loaded) have the same steering wheel buttons.
Grand Marquis buttons:

A couple of steering wheels that should be a direct fit:

I've had really good luck with Certifit.com grilles. IIRC they're right around $60. If you don't see it listed then call, they have it.

The all of the wood steering wheels from a 1998 to 2004 Towncar are direct swaps. Grand Marquis steering wheels direct swap in either wood or the deluxe leather wheels that have the multi function switches. The problem is going to be finding a dark charcoal steering wheel in either wood grain or the right switches. I looked for the last several years at all of my local junkyards for a wood grain wheel for my Sport. I finally bought a tan one and used Color Bond paint code 327. That's the closest color match to Dark Charcoal that I could find. Summit has the paint for the best price. And like everything Ford makes, the earlier the wood wheel, the nicer quality wood. 1998-99 wheels are thicker with nicer feeling leather compared to the 03/04 wheels.
The 1998 Towncar wheel after I painted it and put it in my Sport. The color isn't quite an exact match, but it's close enough.

I just checked the LKQ website, the Whictita Kansas LKQ has two Grand Marquis's in stock on June 10th and the picture show wood steering wheels. I don't know how close you are to there, but the wheels are less than 30 bucks and they have a lot of the other parts shown on those two cars that would work on the DTR.

For that much, I'd drive to Wichita LKQ and pull one myself and save 220.00. That's a lot of money for a header panel.

I agree it's a lot of $$ but maybe they are including the area behind headlights etc and not just header panel, like the skeleton of a front clip sort of.although he does not need those parts.

I'm starting to get frustrated now. Went to certifit and bought the grille and header panel. Bought paint and clear to start painting Saturday morning
The grille was warped, the nose fit like *****. Those are going back for a refund
Went to 4 yards, all GM were 98-2002. Or 2007 and 2008
I found a 1-02 GM. I can't remember if that was the correct one, I've gone thru 100 CV and GM in the last 2 days. I'll head back to check out that 1-02 GM.
Still looking for a 2003-2005 header panel
Bought a grill and unpainted rear spoiler off eBay
Put up a ad on CL looking for the header panel, well looks like instead of being fixed in a week, a few setbacks is costing me a week or more
Still looking for drivers side front marker lense

Get a set of chrome door handles for the panels. They are on a lot of the 05 and up Grand Marquis. They make the interior feel nicer and they have a much better feel to the handles than the black plastic stock ones.
This is my door panel on my Sport with the Grand Marquis door handles.

Can you go back and get the part # for that steering wheel. Lkq site never works right for me.. What site of theirs are you using? I never see pictures on any website they have, except eBay
Links?

So colorbond 327 gets mine to look like that eh?

I could but it would be about the same price as an aftermarket one from the bay, and it would have to be next weekend before I could pull it... and shipping would be a bish. Of course I could do all that and hold it if you wanted to make a trip down here somewhere to meet.
This one is the only one in good shape.

Well, i dont want to drive down and find out its broken, so yeah, as of now, i would pay your fee and pay you for the part.
Im getting pissed 9 junkyards and zero 03-05
Already went 100.00 aftermarket and returned it, they fit like crap
So YEAH, as of now i would want you to pull it and ill drive down to buy it, but im also looking here, there, under rocks, everywhere.
I already bought paint and was going to paint saturday, now im still waiting and looking for parts:bigcry::bigcry::bigcry:: bigcry::bigcry::bigcry::bigcry :
Just frustrated LOL :)
If you plan to go back there, contact me, im still looking for a OEM one, not aftermarket. Part numbers are behind the headlights
573-286-1699 You find out if its OEM, you pull it, you buy it, i drive down to purchase it from you. What are we looking at?
Seriously, how much?
I called the dealer for this part, ive got enough work to keep me busy for the next week, after that i can get back on this car.
Theres my # write it down
Thanks

Just wanted to thank Merky_Marquis and who ever brought him here to view this thread
I went to 15 yards locally, called all the local yards who said they have one... All were broken, and my dealer wanted 528.00 for this header panel
Just drove 6 hours round trip to meet Merky_Marquis and he sold me that header panel I asked him to pull for me
Really helped me out, I know it sounds ridiculous to travel 3 hours one way to get one, but they are hard to find here
All I need now is a OEM drivers side front blinker :banana2::banana2:

I enjoyed meeting you guys and shooting the breeze.
That is one fine looking Marauder you have, and hopefully with the part I provided the other one will be too.
