Speedo is stuck around 80-100mph, but he must have been going at least 120, think the force of the knocked the speedo back a little? I'm suprised their aren't guts all around
But then again, guts and a mangled car = drivers ed:flamer:

Most likely everyone/anyone was ejected on impact! Not a nice situation!

Have a look at the second last picture. Any idea how much force is required to bend a steering wheel like that?
I don't think anyone got out of that one.

Good Gawd! Pic #4 jiggles my noodle. The force of the impact to wrap all that around a tree. A more perfect reason to buckle it up just in case.

It is a safe bet, but that speedo is in KPH. Does not really matter. I would say no one survived.

100mph is 62 something right? I think it's KPH but I bet it moved....

I wonder if the seat belt was on and if so did he/she still survive anyway?

I wonder if the seat belt was on and if so did he/she still survive anyway? From force like that? Glas and stuff all over? Looks like the steering wheel had a dent from a head as well. See the white sheets? I bet a body is inside.
Survived? Not more than a vegetable. MAYBE a few days (hours, minutes, your pick) afterwards as well. Hmmmmmmmmm
However it is interesting, in 2002, there were around 230-250 traffic wrecks in my county. (every one inside the county line). That's really high, 3rd highest in the nation I believe.
Anyways, 17 of them were teenagers, only 2 were wearing seatbelts!

No sir. I only do forums, etc here where it counts as I close in on an 04 marauder soon. Although, I am a heavy auto site surfer to many.

These pics brought back memories of my parents accident. Drinking earlier at a wedding reception which I'm sure impared my dad's jugement. He was doing about 90MPH when the car hit a utility pole, while street racing someone. Someone could have easily provoked him into racing as I'm sure his pride was partly at stake since his car meant a lot to him. He died instantly, my mother died on the way to the hospital about 30 mins. later.
The car was a '70(?) Ford Grand Torino. A full frame car bent to less than 90 degrees.
My brother and I were to go along to the reception, but we got into trouble earlier in the day fighting each other. I'm certain that we would have been killed also. I thank GOD for sparing our lives, especially when I look at our children.
This is not to take away any thoughts about the people who died in that accident, nor to get any pity for me. As I feel for their families loss. Just a reminder to all that street racing & drunk driving can have bad consequences.

There was a BMW that was wrapped around a tree here a short time ago. a High School kid was late for school or something. He didn't survive either.
When I was visiting in BC last spring, that sort of accident was almost a daily occurrence on the NEWS
