My 04 has always hated the heat and with it being a heat index well over a 100* here lately, well she just sits in the garage. Even with the recent work done by MartyO and crew. Still a P I G when it is hot out. Now if it gets into the 50's or high 40's :D Buhuawahahahaha time to rage!

Anybody else have this issue? :(

I also hate the heat. Car doesn't seem to care one way or the other.

Stock I never noticed much difference.

The Trilogy was a POS in the heat.

The ProCharger doesn't give a damn how hot it is. It is always ready and not a hint of loss power.

I rarely beat on mine. This past Saturday Sunday Monday the temps were in the low 70s

Got in the car and it felt much faster with the same throttle, almost like I dropped off a 1500 lb trailer

Isn't there a old saying along the lines.... Once it starts running really good that's about the time it blows up?

I know if I take a 6 hour drive when it's 100 degree plus, mines a pooch

I remember a MV and we were in Washington,DC, the temp outside read 107*. I kept having to run red lights to keep up with the caravan as the damn car would not get out of its own way.

hey ray! you need the reische t-stat, perhaps a new radiator ($100). Today with stop go traffic, 97 degrees outside, idle in traffic, romping around, 187F coolant temp.

I have a custom wideband street tune with lots of timing. mine still pulls good, but when its 50F, It really has teeth.

Hi Babbage, the car has always been like this. It just plain does not like hot weather which is what we have here for several months a year.

My stroker motor does not like the triple didgets at all so this weekend a push fan goes in. My stock fan got toasted 2 weeks ago, cant keep up with the heat.

A pusher fan will not cool as good as a puller with a shroud!!:shake:

So far FORD OEM fan has been the best for me!!:bows:

BTW....mine is a PIG in 90* weather too!!:(

I'll be going killer chiller within the year. but that is for roots blowers anyway

There is nothing you can do besides install a killer chiller.
Once the IAT's get north of 130-140, the PCM pulls lots of timing

Thanks Zack for the explanation. Same issue today with our 09 MGM, plainjane 4.6. Did not have its normal get up and go, but it was 107* on the outside air temp. A tad hot here today...

It was 97* her in hot Georgia today. Running a Whipple with the Killer Chiller in full swing had IAT's at 109-111. Riesch Tstat (170*) had her cooling at 182*-187* sitting in traffic.

When I still lived in South Carolina I had all the MM's on a distilled water and Lucas WaterWetter regime - from April to October it was 50/50 October to April 60/40. Thermostat remained 180 degree open in all of them. Had no problems whatsoever. SlowPig was in stock config and remains that way with stock cooling/heating results.

Yup. My A/C works for the first time in years and now it's a turd off the line when it's +85.

That's ok, it's driving.

Hey Ray....

That's what you get for moving South. Its snowing here in Buffalo today! Not really.

It was 90 in Lewiston yesterday, I took a spirited ride around the gorge and Lake Ontario. Had no Issue at all.

I do have the rear head cooling mod, I run a 180 T-stat, and have Water Wetter in the system. A/C on and timing advanced with a mix of racing fuel and 93.

Oh, and I have the Trilogy Supercharger doing its thing atop the engine.

Honestly, I never had an issue with my Marauder when I was stock, with a tune, and 4.10 gears.

Have you flushed the cooling system and changed out all the coolant yet?. These things are getting up in years. Flush and fill, Move to a lower temp T-stat and get that Water Wetter. I think it made a difference for my car. I think the rear head cooling mod made a difference as well. Especially since I went Super-----Marauder.

107 Ambient temp is pretty damn hot. Put ice bags on the intake tube? Run the fuel through a cool can? How about Methanol Injection?

I really wish we had open vents on the front fenders behind the front wheels to pull air through the engine bay. I remember my '78 Thunderbird had them, and a lot of heat came out of there, especially on race days.

Good Luck Ray. You escaped the "Tax Me State"

For the ~800 investment, the KC is the only logical solution

Well used it today and the stock fan plus my new pusher works the temp is actually cooler

What is this thing exactly.

KIller CHiller uses the cars' A/C to cool the intake air temp. Not sure if useable on a NA car..but roots and twin screw blowers can benefit greatly.

Not usable on a n/a car , it chills the intercooler coolant.

not yet, anyway.
I'm scheming a coolant tube wrap for around the intake pipe on n/a cars to run a killer chiller.....or a box the intake tube passes through, with a waffle of coolant tubing, chilled.

https://www.designengineering.com/category/catalog/cryo2-system-components/cryo2-intercooler-water-sprayer-kit

NEW DESIGN! DEI’s CryO2™ Intercooler Water Sprayer Kit was designed to be used by itself or in conjunction with DEI’s CryO2™ Intercooler Sprayers as a way to supercool intercoolers. By wetting an intercooler’s surface with the Water Sprayer and then venting CO2 on the cooling fins, the intercooler is further chilled resulting in a cooler denser intake charge enhancing a vehicles performance for extended periods of time.
Each CryO2™ Intercooler Water Sprayer Kit comes complete with reservoir, mounting hardware, flexible hose lines, wiring, push button activation switch, nozzle tubes, connectors and installation instructions.

Universal kit designed for all air to air intercoolers and heat exchangers
Can be used with or without our CryO2™ Intercooler Sprayers
Light weight construction
1.25 quart capacity
Complete kit includes all hardware and instructions

$100 bucks - only needs water to refill - I'd rather have this then get rid of the A/C

you don't get rid of A/C with killer chiller, it only taps into it and effects the temp coming into cabin. Maybe lose 5 degrees or so of air tempo into cabin..still cold enough..ask CWright..in Hotlanta.. Never have to fill it..
