Does anyone know where I could sell an active 4 number vanity license plate? Apparently, it's highly collectible being that it can still go on a car, but I cannot seem to find the right buyer. I already contacted a currency exchange and secretary of state to do a legal transfer and it's possible.

If anyone can help point me in the right direction please let me know.

I also have a two letter plate, but might keep that one. After a little research I couldn't believe the value. :awe:

The plate is good until the end of the year when it will need a new sticker. It's Illinois. According to this article it was worth four figures 17 years ago! Not sure on it's value now, this has been tricky research and even more difficult to sell to someone who knows what this is.

Your answer is in the article, consign it to an auction house. That will get the most exposure and in the end money for you.

I must have overlooked that part.

Thank you Archer.

The article mentioned Delaware's license plates....I've heard about how coveted low number Delaware plates are.

It's crazy how much money people will pay to get a single or double digit plate.

Sell it on eBay. Put a reserve on it and keep re-listing until the right person comes along.

I wish you good luck selling the plate, it's a rare commodity. Maybe trade it for some sort of political favor or get out of jail free card?
