MOTOWN

After selling the complete drivetrain of the YSI/HOGAN INTAKE/ALUMINATOR build I have began ordering parts for the WHIPPLE build!:banana2:
The new build will consist of a WHIPPLE 4L blower , a forged 4.6L with a Manley steel crank , Manley I beam billet rods w/ARP 2000 rod bolts , Diamond coated pistons (9.1comp), ARP 2000 main , and head studs , 4.6L Aluminum Teksid block, billet oil pump, and a Moroso aluminum oil pan.
4V heads (9 thread) fully ported, and polished , stock cams , Killer chiller , ID 1300 injectors.
4L80E transmission with a Circle D 2,800 stall converter triple disc , I'll be going to a M9 9" ford rear end with 3:70 gears.
My goal for this build is 900RWHP with a 9second time slip , I'll also be doing True Forged 20X14 wheels with Mickey Thompson street radials!
STAY TUNED! I'll update the thread with pictures and information as I progress with the build.

No with the WHIPPLE it's going to have "traction" issues with the 3:55s anything more is a waste.

I find them in mid 90's Lincoln Mark VIII (RWD).
If you strip it down to just the block, my local junkyard charges $100 for any engine block, including a TEKSID.
The DOHC Modular V-8 has evolved with reliable consistency for more than a decade. Early on, the 4.6L DOHC employed the Teksid F6LZ-6010-AB aluminum block according to George Reid's How To Rebuild 4.6L/5.4L Ford Engines book, which is available from CarTech Books. The DOHC's first aluminum Modular block weighed just 86 pounds compared with the 175-pound SOHC iron block. Teksid of Italy, a world-class aluminum casting operation, provided Ford with DOHC block castings through 2001, when Ford made the decision to bring casting work into its Windsor, Ontario foundry (Windsor Aluminum Plant or "WAP"). Ford introduced a lot of good constructive modifications to the DOHC block including thicker pan rails and increased ribbing for reducing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
Renowned Modular engine builder and racer, Sean Hyland, of Sean Hyland Motorsport tells us he uses the early '96-'98 Cobra Teksid block (F6LZ-6010-AB) for his drag racing engines with great success because they can withstand 1,500 horsepower. This block was also used in the '93-'98 Lincoln Mark VIII, which means there are plenty of cores out there—higher mileage cars can be had for as little as $1,000. Italian-cast Teksid blocks are cast in SAE 319 spec' aluminum and heat-treated to get the desired strength. The Teksid block is consistent and predictable throughout its 1993-2001 production life according to Hyland. The only change was a switch to wider interference fit main caps in 1999 in a revised block casting (ZR3Z-6010-CA) when Ford eliminated the main cap cross bolt jackscrew preload design.

Hope doesn't come into play here , experience does! Sounds like you answered your own question, I'll be running Mickey Thompson street radials in a 29X15X20 , and I wouldn't waste my money on drag radials which are fatal in the rain , and last all of 5K miles.

I'm sure you already know this, but to fit a stock Terminator lower intake/heat exchanger, the Teksid block will need some grinding in the valley of the the block. Also the stock knock sensors will not fit, there are several ways around that. Not sure if you are keeping the knock sensors in the tune though.

You should not drive any type of drag radial, street radial, slick or otherwise in the rain as I am sure you know. I think it is stupid that so many people with 500+hp cars run regular radial tires. I mean come on, really? But anyway, I asked the question because your last wheel/tire setup was not my favorite, just being honest. Any pictures of the mini tub? So what are you doing for the shock relocation? Just moving inboard or heavy angle?
Silver car is gonna be a bad mofo, taking either to Louisville next year?
No pics yet , shocks are going to be relocated inboard of the frame rails , I may get a set of Ridetech coil over shocks.

Here are some of the parts I decided on at this point I'm 90% done gathering what I want to use on this build.
Went with a Innovators West 8 rib balancer with S/C pulley mount.

Im running ARP 2000 head studs , main studs , and side bolts , Fuel injectors will be ID 1300 on E85 which required running new E85 compatible fuel lines/filter , and dual Walbro 460 pumps (this may change).
Last is a Gear Vendors unit with the Pro-mod upgrade.

The BBC is no more.On the dyno 3 weeks ago on a soft tune it made 1495 h.p. at the wheels.A offer was made for the engine which I accepted. It is going into a fox body, drag radial,1/8 mi.car.
