Hey guys, so my 03 trilogy marauder overheated on me yesterday lucky I was able to catch it before the needle went passed the middle mark, the ac suddenly started blowing hot air and my first reaction was to look at the temp gauge , slowly climbing up, I pulled over and fans were making a loud ticking noise , i shut it off let it cool off , and started it back up without the Ac and didn't over heat, I started driving home and decided to turn the Ac on and the car started overheating again, I did this about 4 times and came to a conclusion that it's overheating only when the Ac is on , fans still making a loud clicking noise , anyone chime in ? Obviously the fans are bad but it's only overheating when the Ac is on, thanks 👍🏼

Have you ever cleaned your radiator? It gets awful if you don't hose it off every once in a while

If the fan is not going to high speed when ac is on i would expect you to overheat. I'd fix the fan first and then recheck.

I had the same issue start on Tuesday this week. Clickity-Clackity noise from the fan assembly/shroud and overheating. Noise only when the fan cycles on. There is a crack in the ring around the fan blades. Check out this thread on the problem >>>>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=93462

My fan blade outer ring cracked too several years back. I installed a blade from my previous 2000MY Panther in its place. Apparently 2003 fan plastic wasn't as good as 2000. One of many things that were cheapened and caused problems later.
