I am looking at selling my 2003 Blue/light flint Marauder. The car has 17000 miles on it right now with all service up to date. I have found a car that I want alot more now. The dealer said he would give me 21,000 trade in value. I owe 25,000. Does anyone think I could get payoff of really close to payoff if I sold it privately? I have not seen alot of these cars for sale so i do not know what the going value is. Any help offered is greatly appreciated.
One sold on eBay recently for around 24K.
I recently bought mine from a fellow MM owner here for 22.5K.
I have followed the pricing of amost any blue Marauder coming up on eBay recently.
Here is what I think...
1. I am pretty sure you will beat the dealer
2. Set your reserve for 1K ABOVE what the dealer offers to make it worth it.
3. Put a LOT of photos and a LOT of detail. EVERY DETAIL.
4. Ensure that the auction ends on a Sunday evening aroun 7:00 PM EASTERN to maximize your US exposure.
My guess is that you will get above 23K for it.
I hope that this helps a bit.
Best,
Dan

Don't forget you save on the sales tax from the trade value.

So what is the car that has seduced you away from the Blue MM?

I think 25K is a bit high for a vehicle with 17,000 miles. Just my opinion.

I paid $23K for used Black MM with 12K miles last July. $25K seems high.

$23k would be the high end of reasonability for your car. $25k will require someone who REALLY wants a blue one badly...

Yeah looking around tonight looks like I will be trying to get a little more on trade in value. I think my best bet is going to be doing the trade in. Thanks for the opinions.

just negotiate price for the car first, then tell them right before you sign you will trade your car in. That's my dream car but my twins won't fit anywhere in that carm unless I'm standing outside of it.

If I didn't need to seat 4 adults comfortably, I'd be drooling too! Good luck with the new ride.

Otherwise, you were doomed to being upside down on it unless you put 10-15k down (which I did). I will say this: My Marauder was somewhat of a celebrity at the Hallsville track; a 4600 lb sedan beating Mustangs all over the place. Freaked people out. I'm afraid I'll have to run there continuously now, since they want me to keep coming back. May be good for a few free cheeseburgers!

Dan speaks wisely. We bought ours just before he bought his... I think he's leading you in the right direction.
Enjoy that V-10!
Greg
PS. Dan... maybe you should buy this one and keep it as your "collector car"!
LOL. Thanks for the compliment and suggestion.
I think it would be a lot of fun to have a second blue one i the family. One for me and one for the wife. Imagine showing the stock one all around and then taking the 'charged one out to the cruises? MUAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAA
No, I won't be going for the collector route. I will take care of my car with the love and intentions of a collector but I am looking forward to seeing the prices drop so that I can afford a parts car some day. :)
Best,
Dan

23 might be about allll the $ but I'm assuming the assumption that you know that 21 trade $ aren't real $. I have an '03B blue with less tha 7k, htd seats, 6 disc cd and trnk org. stock and probably 25 or so would be it in my area right now.
