Turn your speakers down, cause when those Trilogy Superchargers wind up, they sound like a jet engine!!

Wooo Hooo! What a great day that was
Nuttin' better than strapping down those Marauders and lettin' them rip on the chassis dyno. We had all types of configurations too, from mild to wild!
Thanks for the film clip Dave. It's a keeper

The sun light from the right just has the area a bit overexposed so its hard to see them. Trust me...they're there! :burnout:

Dave, do you have the Magnaflow mufflers, or just the Magnaflow hi-flow cats? My car has both, and w/those mufflers my car is loud enough to drownd out most of the S/Cer's whining noise. It can still be heard a little, but not as much as w/your car. Ofcourse I'm simply going by an internet video clip.

When you're outside the car, the blower whine is what you hear most regardless of the exhaust. One guy had the Kooks headers, 2 highflow cats, a full custom 2.5" all the way back, and deleted resonator tips. The blower was just as loud. From behind the car, the blower was less dominant but still very audible.

Yeah Mike, but you didn't list any Hi-perf mufflers in there, and that's what will make the car louder. I had a friend take two videos of my car while I was pounding on it in a a big empty parking lot, and I can't hear the blower whine anything like on your cars. I also had my car dynoed, and I didn't hear the whining nearly as much as the wild exhaust note. That's why I was wondering if Dave has the 18" straight-thru Magnaflow mufflers like I do.

Billy, I have stock cats, but from there its all custom. Magnaflo custom X-pipe and 18 in Magnaflo polished mufflers with the deleat megs tips. I will tell you why my car screams so loud, which I personally love, I am running more boost and the Pro-m setup both help the car flow a ton more air. The breathing is what makes the blower spin harder and louder with the extra boost. And it is not just because its an internet video clip, live in person it still produces an ear piercing whine! I watched and mine was the only one that people plugged their ears while being dynoed! Even though it was hot and humid, my Marauder threw down a new personal best on the dyno, it made a ground rattling 451 HP at the rear wheels!

You wont get that kind of sound unless your hood is open on a dyno. My blower still is noticable loud at the strip, but is so much louder in a building on a dyno.

The silver car I was describing had 3 chamber flowmasters. They are much louder than the stock mufflers. Add that to the headers, 2 less cats, plus 2.5" all the way out, and it adds up to the loudest exhaust of any Marauder I've ever heard. Even so, the blower whine dominated.
Of course, as Dave said, being surrounded by 3 walls makes a difference. But, standing outside the dyno room, behind the car, the blower whine on all the cars was loud and distinct regardless of exhaust. The hood open makes the big difference as Dave pointed out.

Must have something to do w/the way the video was taken or the particular accoustics in that building. My car was dynoed also, and ofcourse the hood was also open, and my car doesn't sound like that. And w/400 RWHP, the S/Cer is definatley working just fine. Unless both cars in question have a smaller blower pulley on them which ofcourse makes the blower turn faster. My car has the stock Trilogy 3.4" pulley.

All frequencies are louder when the space is smaller, but louder, high pitched noises will drown out lower noises, which tend to travel through objects more easily, where as the high whine is echo-ing off of everything...just like you can hear your engine more when driving beside another car, or wall, or such where the sounds have something to hit and bounce back to you with. ;)
