Here in the Twin Cities metro area of Minneapolis & St. Paul, it appears that Walmart has stopped selling Motorcraft Synthetic Blend motor oil. Has anyone else seen this in your area? I've checked three Walmart's in the area and there is no 5W20 oil on the shelves. They still have Motorcraft oil filters on the shelf.

Most FLAPS still carry it.

My walmart still has it but its getting harder to buy. My brother in law works in walmart and he said they get tones of it but they sell extteamlly quicker then the 5 30 or 10 30. I myself didnt know that 5 20 was so popular.

At Walmart, a 5 quart jug is about $18. I can't imagine what the price would be at a Ford dealer.

I'd ask someone at Walmart why they are not carrying it anymore around here, but I doubt I'd get an answer.

Autozone would be next cheapest after walmart.

I myself didnt know that 5 20 was so popular.Considering that it's been spec'd for most new cars for sale in America for over a decade I'm not surprised.

OK, except for BMW...they spec that 10W-60 molasses.

Even if they stop selling it "in-store" which would be hard to believe, you could always order it through their website and shipped to the store for pickup.

Also check Amazon.

My store just recently added the 5qt jug of 5-20 but the fact is that there are rarely enough qts of the 5-20 or 5-30 on the shelf to do an oil change. So I always tell the wife when she goes to pick up the 2 or 3 qts they do have on the shelf and usually I have 6-10 qts on hand of the 5-30 that I use in our fleet, which is recommended for 5-20. The only car that I did use the 5-20 in was my wife's Fusion Hybrid because its mission in life was max fuel economy and it had variable valve timing.

One reason that the Motorcraft oil seems to be hit or miss for stock is that it only has one facing and the stockers seem to go through before order day and face the isle so it looks good and in the process stick another row of what ever brand is next to it. So when I see that I make sure to clear out the area above the sticker on the shelf so that when the person walking down the isle scanning stuff to order they see a hole so they know they need to scan the tag under that hole.

My local Wally's is frequently out of MC 5W-20 because they suck eggs. Also out of QSUD and PP 5W-30 way too often.

Worst. Oil Aisle. Ever.

If You drain it the right way, it should take about 6 1/4 to 6 1/2...

If You drain it the right way, it should take about 6 1/4 to 6 1/2...How many different ways are there to drain the oil?

1. Pull plug.
2. Wait for oil to slow to a drip.
3. Install plug.
4. Add 6 quarts
5. See dipstick right on full.

Having said that, I think it was Zack who determined it takes a serious overfill (like 9 quarts) to get into the crankshaft, so whether you add 6 or 7 or 6.372584 should be a non-issue.

If You're only adding 6quarts then Your engine might be hurting....I drain My oil after the car sits for over 8hrs. Then I jack up the passenger side so it pours out almost everything....

Wally World currently has most flavors of Mobil 1 on sale for $22.88 /5 qt jug, and Mobil 1 has a $10 /jug mail-in rebate promotion on top of that.

Console yourself with that :)

On my way to Wally World to buy Mobile 1 on sale. Picking up CVHPP in Seattle, getting the oil changed (brought Oil Filter with me), hitting the spray wash to wash engine, wheel wells and underneath, and then hitting the freeway

ANY ONE SOUTH OF SEATTLE NEAR I5 that wants to meet up today tonight or tomorrow call me 916 849 9934 Grant.

You should drain the oil when it is warm.

Motorcraft oil still available here in Indy at Walmarts. Maybe just a matter of time though.

Thank you for the heads up!

I bought two 5 gal jugs AND an OEM filter. What a deal!

Had my oil changed after I drove on the freeway for an hour or two.

When I told the oil change attendant that it would take 6 1/4 to 6 1/2qts he said, "We get our spec straight from Ford!"

I bet him $10 off the labor charge that I would be right.

When he came to gloat and show me the dipstick afterward... He was amazed that it showed only 1/2 (full) up the dipstick marking. He checked it thrice. And apologized by saying, "Wow you know more than the Ford specs!"

I just smiled and said, "Well... Yea!"

Thanks guys -- YOU SAVE ME ANOTHER $10... Even if I can't spell!

Car sounded and felt better leaving the parking lot. BTW was 104-108 for my 6 hour drive. 85MPH, air on, and car simply FLEW down the interstate.

Cars were broken down left and right the entire way home because of the amazing heatwave WA and OR were having.

So glad I read this and changed the oil!

Stopped at Walmart during my lunch hour and they had two 5W20 5 quart jugs on the shelf and one quart of 5W20. So it looks like they are trying to stock it at my local Walmart.
