Anyone know of availability and/or PNs for the 24 pin radio connector? I'm looking for both the male and female sides, so I can build a harness that will intercept the speaker circuits at the radio. I want to wire the audio output from both my ham radio and CB into the front doors.
The burger flippers that happened to land a job at the local stereo shops here were clueless and made the mistake of asking me why. :nono:
I've searched the internet and this site, but could find nothing in detail.
Thanks

I would email or call tech support for P.I.E. or Blitzsafe, both of which specialize in making such harnesses.

Metra electronics makes both styles of connector. Male and female. Called into car and into factory radio. Check with any car stereo shop. $15.00 each. Color coded to industry standard and labled per function.

If you find what you are looking for, would you mind posting the details? I'll be adding some extra radio gear eventually also and would appreciate the lead.
Thanks,

Checked Metra Electronics. No listing on their website for MM. Found one for the 2002 Expedition that supposedly fits, however the Expedition was changed to the MM plug late in production and I'm not confident they list the correct application.
Is there anyone that has actually purchased one or both connectors and knows PNs.
Thanks

crutchfield sent me 3 harnesses, a 16? pin connector, a 4 pin (that did not work - was the pos, neg, remote turn on and ground of rear amp and signal) and a larger 24 pin connector. I stripped the 4 pin harness from the car and connected the pos signal & neg signal to stripped RCAs that were connected to the sub out on the back of the new radio, the remote turn on and ground were connected to the new radio harness and I used the smaller harness out of the 2 left.

Here is what I know:
The speaker circuits go through the 24 pin connector. This connector is new in 2003. It is used in the high end stereos for Panther vehicles and late 2003 Expeditions.
Metra PNs are as follows: 70-5520 is the female plug that interfaces the harness. PN 71-5520 is the male end that plugs into the radio. AI and others make the female end, but not the male end. I could not find any of the Metra male ends. There are 2 other connectors for the radio a 16 pin and an 8 pin.
I checked radiosandmore.com, they carry Ford original CD changer harnesses for add on CD changers that have both plugs to intercept the radio harness at the 24 pin connector and a length of wire to go to the CD changer. Everything I need should be in the harness assembly. I'll know by Wednesday. They were very helpful. the PNs are:
2U6F-14588-AA OEM Car Harnesses Phase II Harness (Short) Ford (CD)
2U6F-14588-BA OEM Car Harnesses Phase II Harness (Long) Ford (CD)
[I ordered this one]
2U6F-14588-CA OEM Car Harnesses Repair harness Ford (all three plugs for the radio, 24, 16, & 8 pin and a 6ft pigtail)
I will post details when I build the new harness.
Prices are very reasonable, especially considering they are Ford parts. :cool4:
Thanks for all your input :)

The harness from radiosandmore.com arrived. It is a very nice piece and has both male and female 24 pin connectors so I can build the harness I need. It also has a mathcing set of the 20 pin connectors on it, plus about 25 feet of cable. In all it is good value. I'll keep you posted.
