Hey guys... 03 with 130,000 miles on it...
On my way to work the check engine light comes on...
Running rough when stopped at a red light or in park. I have my foot on the brake and still likes to inch forward with a sudden bump of power...
Runs perfect coming out of everything else and at high speeds...
Came home from work and hooked up my diagnostic scanner... Powertrain Control Module came up.
Do these symptoms match up with a PCM?
I tried to do some research but couldn't come back with anything in stone for the Marauder...
I found something similar for a Crown Vic. Instilling a PCM...
http://www.crownvic.net/tech/chip_install.html
Is the PCM install difficult? Is there any re programming of the chip involved? I really don't want to take it into the dealership. Kinda tight on cash right now...
Thanks guys for the help! Always a pleasure coming on this board even when things aren't always going good with the Merc....

What was the code that popped up?
Blown3.8

If you have to replace the PCM, unfortunately you will have to have the dealer reprogram it and you will have to have 2 PATS keys to do it.
It is not hard to install a new PCM.
Last note it is very rare that a PCM goes bad.
Probably more than one code is flagged. Check for deteriorated vacuum lines in the engine bay (pull, tug, twist).

^^^This...
it is very rare that a PCM goes bad....and this.
Probably more than one code is flagged. Check for deteriorated vacuum lines in the engine bay (pull, tug, twist).
This has nothing to do with a PCM.

Also check the harness that is behind the drivers side cam cover. It might be frayed.

Appreciate the response fellas.... I couldn't get under the hood today. It rained all day. South Florida...
The code came out to be 051....
Looked around and couldn't find a diagnostic...
Ill check under the hood when the sun comes out....

The code came out to be 051....Not enough characters...DTCs are always 4 numbers preceded by a letter: Pxxxx for powertrain codes, Bxxxx for body codes, Cxxxx for brake codes...

Hey fellas.. It finally stopped raining and I had some time to get under the hood...
The codes P0171 and P0174 came up....
Before I did anything, I disconnected the battery and hooked it back up. I started her up and open the hood... All of a sudden I hear a loud whistling sound... I start to look around and found this spilt....
What is this vacuum tube called? I don’t know what Ford actually labels it...
