So looking at a motor that was in a Mach 1 today but it had the manual trans. should I also try to get the trans from him or should I stick with the 4R70W? Not sure which is better? If I stick with the stock trans, what do I need to get to make it work? Or if I use the manual, what do I need. Not sure if anyone has done it. Any websites that y'all know of to order parts would be appreciated. I know I will need a flex plate if I stick with the auto, but not sure of anything else. Thanks for the help

164 tooth 8 bolt flex plate. The correct size of torque converter bolt spacing I can't recall but I had bought a used one online from a mid 2000's F150 for like $40 and it was correct. Just verify the spacing with someone.

Manual trans here. [emoji1303]Trust me, you don't want to attempt it with limited resources.

What all did you have to do for the manual swap?

Everything and anything which is why it requires unlimited resources to attempt. He has a thread on the install and parts.

^This^

If there was simply a list of parts to pick up you'd see more cars converted.

These cars can't be built with a shopping cart, it's a Marauder thing. [emoji6]

So looking at a motor that was in a Mach 1 today but it had the manual trans. If I stick with the stock trans, what do I need to get to make it work? It's accepted that the Marauder is basically a Mach 1 motor, so changing the flex plate should be all that's needed to use the 4R70W.

You can trust justbob's advice on a manual conversion...it was really a labour of love. Pretty much everything was custom or needed to be modified. Things broke...a lot...although he seems to have it sorted now.

I thought I saw a kit for sale for a manual transmission swap for these cars. The kit even stated that it would take a ton of modification to make it work....that was after spending $5k-$6k on the kit.
But that shifter looks so amazing. I miss shifting gears.
