My brother's looking at getting one.

it's a 2003

Lady says it is an LX Sport.

No dual exhaust, no console shift (it's on the column).

Does that sound right?

I thought they all had dual exhaust/console shift if "Sport"

See if it has a digital dash. If it does, and it has dual exhaust it could be an HPP. And HPP's actually show up as a SPORT when you run the VIN and for insurance.

Chances are, and most owners do not, the lady thinks it is SPORTY, was told it was a sport, when in fact it is not.

You see many on Craigslist that claim they are a sport when they are not.

How much is she asking?

Sport has dual exhaust, center console shift and rear air bags. Also has body color matched grille, exterior door handles and rear lights trim.

$5k with 41k miles.

I told him to get it anyway. It's in good shape, except for having been sitting since the old man died.

It has none of that. It's a "P74". Doesn't look like it had the sport upgrades from what I can tell.

that's what I'm thinking.
leather seats? temp/stereo controls on the steering wheel? = LX
Sport, as said, buckets, console, etc.
sounds like a good score.

Like the others said, it isn't a Sport. It sounds like a plain, ordinary Crown Vic. Nothing wrong with that. If it's rust free it was a ok deal. 3500 to 4 grand would have been a better price. I hope he enjoys the car and gets a lot of trouble free years out of it.

There were a few colors Ford offered with the Sport package that didn't have the color matched trim. Arizona beige and brown were two colors offered in 2002( brown) and 2003/4/5 for Arizona beige. There were a few other colors that I'm forgeting.

I test drove a 2003 CV LX Sport in Ice Blue. Wasn't thrilled with the color and matching interior. Way too light for my taste. Dealer said there were no Black ones left in Northern Virginia. Found my 2003 blue Marauder that afternoon. No comparison. Drove it home that day. Was even able to get the price down to $27,500 with 54 miles on the odometer. That was less than what the other dealer wanted for the CV LX Sport. The L/M dealer just wanted it off his lot since it had been sitting there for about 6 months. It just didn't fit with his regular clientele. Took me about 2 seconds to make up my mind when I saw it sitting in the corner spot on the hill. The rest is history.

I ordered a 1999 CV Sport, brand new. Bench, velour, column. However, dual exhaust, sport suspension, HPP wheels... Nice family car.
