View Full Version : Sold my GN, needed a change, what cars are on your bucket lists?

Well as the saying goes, Hell froze over because I was pretty sure I'd never sell it. I felt I needed a change so decided to let her go after the right buyer came along. I even turned down more money before as they were not the right person for car.

Here she sits in her new home along side of some other sweet rides, no regrets she's in a great place. I'll miss the ability to run deep elevens in street trim will little drama or noise, 10's with a few extra pounds of boost, but I barely used it any more. I won't miss trying to look after and keep two black cars looking clean.

That being said what other cars are on your bucket list? I fancy the Fox body coupes, a 69-71 Chevelle, Nova, I also like the early split bumper z28's.

The MM is doing it's job so it will stay with me for a while, but off into winter storage soon.

Give me some ideas fellas what else is worth owning! If anyone knows af a nice super clean Fox coupe in Canada let me know. I'd consider a US car as well but the exchange is a killer right now.

Anything newer worth looking at at? I don't feel any of the new cars have and sort of presence on the road.

I'd love to get a early 30's street rod. Saw a project '61 Impala today. Looked fairly solid as I passed by but I didn't have time to stop and give it a once over.

New cars suck. Yeah its nice having something new, but damn all that cash and i could have bought another 69 camaro.

I currently own,
1967 firebird 400 4 speed red on red hardtop
1968 firebird 400 auto gold on black
1986 hardtop GN
1987 hardtop Charcoal Turbo T
1987 hardtop Turbo regal Limited blue on blue
1987 Sage green Turbo regal
1987 WE4 turbo regal 2 of them
a few 4wd trucks
a new mustang
4 marauders
a 88 mustang coupe

I cant tell you which one gives me most satisfaction, i can tell you that every time i see my buddies dads 65 white malibu with brodix heads and intake on a 500+ cid BBC i **** myself. Yeah its slower than the buicks even when the BU is on a 250 shot,.... But mannnn those body lines..

Its just like everytime i see a fastback 67 or 68 mustang, i HAVE TO HAVE ONE!

I would buy a 1993 up supra up there, up in canada they are cheap from JAPAN cause you dont have the stringent laws we have on the impact.
Go buy a JSPEC 1993 up turbo supra and its just as cool imho.

Welp, thats what id do.

what's your goal, or should I say what kind of enjoyment are you looking for. Every car mentioned so far would be an awesome car but most are so different.

You looking for something to:
cruse in
drag race
autocross
tinker with
looking for reliability
convenience
a convertible
rare
easy to find parts for
safe to drive

The list goes on

I personally would like a modern day car I can drive to a road coarse with i.e. GT350
after that a 72 Pantera
then a resto-mod 70 Olds wagon either flat top or vista

If the price range concern is not as big an issue to most people, how about a Group B Rally car?

(My preference would be a Ford RS200)

I have always wanted a MK IV Supra Turbo; I know most on here probably wont agree but I think it would be a fun car.:burnout:

Of course the ultimate car for me is a 1970's De Tomaso Pantera, unfortunately in the past decade they have increased about 10X what they were. You can still find some unrestored Pantera's for an ok price.

Yep, 25 years ago I was looking at a '74 for 12k but the lack of back seat stopped me. I had one child and knew another was on the way, thus the W30 in my signature, which fortunately has increased just as much. With 4 kids I have always needed a back seat. Thus the SHO's I have owned and the Marauder, the sports cars I have owned did have a back seat that at least two kids could jam in.

Some good suggestions there. My buddy is on the fence about maybe selling his turbo Buick powered Chevy II. It's a 66. I'm also going to look at a 55 Chev, an older restoration but it's quite nice, a high revving small block with a Muncie m22 4 speed.

Here is the turbo 3.8 Chevy.

The Supra's are getting pretty valuable, very rapidly. There was a 74 Pantera GT5 for sale when I was about 15 right around the corner from me. I was in love at first sight, it wasn't in prefect condition but still very nice and I think they only wanted 18K. That was the last time I ever saw a random Pantera, now I see about one a year at shows and they are timeless. How can you not love this!!! Back to reality! :alone:

Yea I have a nice 87 GTA firebird with a clean LS swap done to it for sale.
The 03/04 Cobras are something to look into. That's about as new as I would go.
The new muscle cars now adays are just way over priced.

Elio's, smart cars, minis and fiats are out. This particular car is 40 minutes from where I live, going to try to get out and have a look. I've always been a fan of these. My buddy got cold feet not interested in selling the 66 Nova, haven't had a chance to get out and see the 55 it's 4 hours away.

The pickings are getting slim around here with winter coming. The ccpauctions collector car productions starts this weekend, looking there as well.

I know I've seen it in person once but owner is not good at returning messages. Here are a cpl more shots of it.

It has a 454 BBC, turbo 400 with a 3,000 stall, a Ford 9 inch with 4.10's and it's rolling on Nitto's the rears are 325/50/15's. I don't like the fact it has a 16 gallon fuel cell but it was necessary for the ladder bars and coil overs.

I want to go see it tomorrow but forecast is rain rain and more rain all through the weekend.

Best color hands down!

CTS/V coupe here as well. I was a sedan guy but the wife won me over on the coupe finally. I went to purchase a '12 thunder grey sedan at a local exotic dealer a couple of years ago. Over $12,000 in mods from some famous Caddy dealer in Cali from previous owner, 680 RWHP, two years old and only $42,000! An Internet buyer beat me by twenty minutes... It was to be her surprise toy even though a sedan.

Other bucket list cars:
29-31 Ford Tudor rat - clean, one color, "ready for paint" (not a fan of true rats), 50's era drag car speed parts, steel rim skinnies front and rear. No class, pure attitude problem child look.

Another 29-31 Tudor rat patina'd rust with a 32V 4.6/Whipple, 6 speed, chrome quick change, air ride, and shiny new 19 X 9 front and 22 x 12 rear rims. Rusty body meets today's go fast.

68-70 Road Runner, V10, six speed touring restomod*.

Lifted and built, custom painted diesel Excursion or better yet six door F350.

'70 split bumper Camaro restomod*.

'55-'57 Chevy gasser

*restomods MUST be slammed with rims tucked up and in! [emoji1303]

I've always said there's only one car that would or could ever replace my Marauder...

2007 Ford FPV Falcon GT

Importing laws from Australia however are very strict and it costs a lot of money to do so I don't think it will ever happen but you can dream right? Plus I already have an Australian car sitting in the shed that needs to be completed first. Other than that I also still quite like the idea of an 1996 Impala SS.

Oddly enough, the Marauder was a bucket car for me for 10 years. Only one I'll ever have.
The big 5 are...
1. '63 Galaxie 500 slant back.
2. Customized 67 Dodge A100 van.
3. Split bumper Z28.
4. A 240Z turned into a convertible.
5. Ferrari 330 P4.

The cars I've looked at around here in my town have been a bust. I put the MM in storage today and will likely venture to the classic car productions auction this weekend provided I get the time off from work. Otherwise I wait until spring. Some good suggesrions, so may cars I'd like to own but can only do two at a time due to space. That 07 Falcon above is awesome looking.
