11-14-16 Point Pleasant NJ party boat hooked me a striped bass 37" just shy of 21 lbs. Last year got skunked, a win so far this year, maybe one more shot at it. Goanna be a fish fry in Philly soon.

I was supposed to go out with some friends this past Sunday, but with 40 MPH winds...our fishing trip was cancelled....:mad:
They've been catching some really nice Rockfish in the mouth of the Chester River. (just North of the Bay Bridge)

Hey Jim, Nice. Bouncing off the bottom or were you casting out to them ?

Casting out with a spinner reel hitting bottom and retrieving to boat, with live bunker. That's what the Captain said to do & it worked, other trips out it is bouncing off the bottom with a diamond jig is the ticket. Great Captain and I always do as he says. We were also getting big blue fish 15-20 lbs, strong & fun to catch, but striper was the goal.

Nice catch on your "fishing boat" as a "party boat" would clearly have more beer in evidence and I see nary a can nor bottle.

Fillets fresh frozen in vacuum bag, waiting for my girls to give ne a date for the fish fest, told them to pick, on the grill, baked, pan fried, breaded, blackened. Will update when it happens. All still eating turkey.
