I have been looking for the correct coolant / bypass hose part number. I have to switch out the coolant hose that goes to the thermostat and when I called the Ford dealer, they told me the part number is Motorcraft KM-4730 and it is obsolete. I have tried Advanced, Autozone, eBay and Amazon etc. and they all show me a rubber hose, Dayco 71780 as the factory replacement. However the 71780 is literally 1/2 the width of the OEM hose.

Would anyone know the aftermarket hose brand and / or part number that matches the OEM hose correctly? I have attached a picture I found online with the part circled in red.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, thank you. That is the exact part I need and I did see that listing. I contacted JEGS and they are out of stock as well. I did ask why they have the listing on eBay and they said they didn't know it was obselete until they confirmed what I told them. JEGS said they will pull the listing off eBay soon.

Just go in the back of any auto part store and match one up. You would be amazed at how many would be a perfect fit if you trimmed a little off a longer pre bent hose!

All my local stores know me real well and know I normally need some Frankenstein part..

If they're douches and won't let you in the back then just tell them to spend their time then matching it up.

Trust me, every hose on your car can be found easier this way.

He's right. I replaced this hose last weekend. I had to cut it to get the oil filter adapter off. I needed to fix an oil leak by replacing the oil filter adapter gasket. The only way to get the hose off was to cut it. I walked the back room at Auto Zone and found an approximate replacement, trimmed it and installed it. Not at all easy, needed to lubricate it with dish soap and applied heat with a heat gun. Big struggle, finally got it on, Leaked first try, tightened up hose clamp and it held. Drank a lot of beer while doing this - it helped.

same - I just had to replace mine - did the same thing. they wouldn't let me in back so the dude made 4 or 5 trips with a handful of hoses until one was close-enough for me.

Out of all of this, I have to ask....what's your definition of a "lot of beer"? We may be brothers....
