A 60‑year‑old woman thwarted a robbery attempt in Mid‑City on Friday evening (Dec. 9) by fighting off two juveniles attackers
with a piece of wood, New Orleans police said.
The woman was walking in the 200 block of North Salcedo Street at around 8 p.m. when two young males approached, one
around 12 years old and the other about 16, according to a preliminary report. One of the boys grabbed the woman from behind
and held her by the throat as the other boy rifled through her pockets.
But the woman fought back, picking up a two‑by‑four and striking both subjects in the head, NOPD says. The subjects ran off,
heading east on North Salcedo Street before turning south on Bienville Street.
NOPD provided no further information about the incident.
Santa says the 2 "boys" are now on the Naughty List.
