OK! OK!.......I added a Meziere Electric Waterpump....(pic in gallery)

Here's what I got....

Now mind you....it was 92 degrees outside with the humidity at 94%.......with a mildly hot engine.....

I gained 10.1 hp with the Electric Waterpump. (It's probably more with the right weather conditions)

Sooooooo......Now...I'm at 291.8 RWHP and 308.3 FPTQ

But check this out.......With a 50-shot of NOS............:nono:

I got 328.3 RWHP and 372.3 FPTQ!!!! (hee hee hee)....just HAD to do it!!! I knew Todd would be checking out Dyno numbers and I knew these numbers would give him a heart attack!!!!! (hee hee hee).....I'm BAD!!! (snicker) :D  :D

Mine is on order. Anybody who wants to do more research do an internet search on Meziere electric water pumps. To me it seems to make good sense. No high rpm cavitation, no low rpm low capacity issues, just a constant operating speed so the thermostat and radiator (with its electric fan) can regulate the engine temp. I reckon you could even cool down an engine by leaving the key on without starting it, assuming it's hot enough for the thermostat to open.

Uhh, did you get the one with or without the idler pully?

With the pulley. The pulley is OEM diameter. Since it is just an idler, it doesn't matter what size it is as far as engine loading is concerned.

If you have stock crank pulley the OEM belt fits. If you have the underdrive crank pulley it requires a shorter belt by about 2".

Edit: I can answer some questions about it because I studied it very carefully at breakfast Saturday and asked a lot of these questions to the installer.

But, Kathy, did you get the relay kit or just wire it in directly? I ordered the relay kit with mine.

Only thing to watch for is draw of the electric pump. If the alternator still keeps up, fine, otherwise you may also be looking at a charging system upgrade as more electrical items are added. Our (all new vehicles really) electrical systems seem pretty close to capacity already by some reports.

MARAUDERCHICK

So Kathy why the NOS??
The NOS was a ONE TIME thing just to get high numbers on the dyno at Team Ford.....

It was a practical joke actually....See.....Todd likes to come around the shop and peek at everyones dyno numbers, so they guys at Team Ford talked me into this little practical joke......:P

They did a one time 50-shot of nitrous into the air filter chamber just to get some outrageous numbers and to make Todd wonder "what the heck has she done now??":D :D :D

I love those guys!!!! They ROCK!!! Todd too....he's so fun to pick on!!

Getting a little jealous here. 10 more RWHP? Looks good. Does everyone think that the electric water pump will be as good for cooling purposes in the long run as the OEM? I'd like the extra power, but only if the engine cooling doesn't suffer. Just asking since this is a new mod to me. Not too much money, so it could be a future investment if it is as good as it looks. Congratulations, Kathy, now go "spank" Todd with your new HP! Or, with anything else that you like!

BillyGman
05-27-2004, 09:03 AM
Me personally, I don't worry about 5 or 10 HP gains, cuz you won't feel such a small gain when you hit the noise pedal. Kathy & Todd have been engaged in a Dyno #'s battle for awhile now, so I understand where she's coming from, but as far as your question about the cooling ability of electric water pumps, some of them are actually better for cooling. As long as the flow rate is good, then it will be more efficient at cooling the engine since the flow rate will not be dependent on the engine RPM as it is w/mechanical pumps.

Ross
05-27-2004, 09:05 AM
Thanks, Billy. Being from a "slightly warm" climate, cooling is one of my concerns. That's why I've been watching the threads on DR's cooling mod.

That's good to know Billy, I will ask a novice question then. Will the electric pump be helpful on an S/C car or does it matter?

I wouldn't say that an electric water pump isn't worth the $$. If it's neccessary, I dunno. A matter of opinion perhaps. It would save a little HP ofcourse which is why Kathy bought one. Like I said, it might provide better cooling also. That's just a guess on my part as far as this particular application is concerned.

MARAUDERCHICK
05-28-2004, 06:36 PM
According to some literature I read, this electric waterpump has proved engines run cooler at low speeds and gain high end horsepower.

But, like you said, I got it for the extra horsepower.

Has anyone NOS'd a stock Marauder? Or heard of someone doing that? I'd be curious to see the results NOS alone would have on the stock motor. If anyone has any feedback on this subject...I'd sure like to read it. Thanks.

Uhmm, you might already know this, but there are atleast a couple members on this board who have installed NOS injection systems on their Marauders, but I don't believe either one of them were bone stock before the modification was performed, although both of them do have N/A cars. There are atleast two threads w/"NOS" or "NO2" titles that you can find.

Another advantage to the electric pump is the ability to run it at the track when the car is shut down after a run, or while in the staging lanes. This can prove to be very helpful even without airflow through the rad. Most of us with the intercooled Trilogy set up run the intercooler pump the same way now. It makes a difference by fighting heat soak.
