Pedal Repair Gears

Marty O called a few weeks ago, I had a guy from Australia message me on Facebook, and just took a call from Washington about the gears... there has not been any interest at all for about a year... are there any of you newbie guys out there that are in need of one? Please post up if you are remotely interested in a gear. I may have another run made if I can get 5-10 people wanting them. Thanks!:beer:

Even though my pedal works I would like to get 1 to put into inventory. then it will never fail if I don't get 1 it will fail right after gears cant be had anymore ! so I'm in if you have them made.

No, unfortunately the pedal assembly in your truck is a real PITA to take apart. I looked into it years ago but it's not worth it... Most people would sell the truck before doing that much work to fix it... sorry.

I would say that if the plastic OEM gear in your car hasn't failed yet you've been lucky.....it most likely will at some point.

If Curless is doing another run of the replacement gears EVERYONE who owns a Marauder (and hasn't already gotten one) needs to jump on this while they are available. You will need it someday.

Only if the gear breaks if you do move them.

Same for me. I've adjusted my pedals once since I got my car. Just to see it work.

No reason to fix what isn't broke. Count me out.

There is a 10 tpi (internal teeth) for panther cars, and a 12tpi for expedition / navigators

I cleaned my broken gear thoroughly to illustrate what actually breaks. This has 40 teeth and every turn of the worm gear turns the adjustment gear on the jack shaft 1/40th of a revolution. The gear actually still works UNTIL the worm gear gets to the fracture point where the thread pitch changes dramatically and jams the worm gear. Similar to threading in a bolt until you get to the damaged threads. But the flexishaft driven worm gear lacks the mechanical leverage to drive past the gap and the pedals stop.

How far are the pedal supposed to adjust? Mine only adjusts slightly. Not sure of distance but I'd say the motor only goes for about 1-2 second. I have vague recollection of adjusting much further in my previous MM.
