What is the difference in as much detail as possible in a 04 police interceptor tranny and a regular crown victoria 4r70w tranny?

Seems to explain it pretty well.

police has 11.25 "converter, lx has 12" converter. police has longer tailshaft to accomodate aluminum driveshaft. internals are the same. its all in the tune as police has 3.27 or 3.55 rear axle ratio, lx has 2.73 unkess a sport model

It is a sport

And I had planned on getting the aluminum shafts as well to compensate for the tail length.

sport has 3.27 open differential. tailshaft and converter biggest change, but converter can be swapped and so can tailshafts. internals are the same. send a pm to member 88grandmarq. he builds/repairs these trans.

trans doesn't care what ratio, that is in the pcm tune

OD servo snap ring was broken and the small debris had jammed the od servo regulator valve. Removed the debris from the valve and installed a new snap ring... once he got the od servo to engage the band, everything worked correctly.

Well like 88 said it was a very small piece of the snap ring that went into my valve body and got caught up in my regulator valve.. what I didn't know was that j had to move the OD band back into place in order for the servo piston to engage it properly so I put everything back together without doing that.. per ford manufacturers service manual.(big ass red book) it had nothing in there about moving the actual band back n in place.. so I didn't know to do it.. only when everything was back together and I was going on my 9th qt. of motorcraft merc on V ATF did I think to call 88.. I honestly called him cause I was wondering where all the damn ATF was going..lol i thought 9 qts was a bit much.. so he told me an even 10 qts would be perfect.. then he asked me if I moved the damn band back in place for the OD servo to engage it... nooooooooo..... I have to do that?? I said. So I had to take it all back apart and use a hacksaw blade to n position the band where it needed to be.. and when I put the servo piston in there's a very distinct click that let's you know that it engaged.. so I put everything back together and took er for a test drive.. 1st....2nd.... 3rd.........come on please b right.......OD4th!!! PHEW!!! it worked!! I fixed it! without spending all sorts of money on a tranny rebuild kit or a reman.. all thanks to the guidance of some very generous knowledgeable ppl.. thanks again..
