Tell us about your most infamous auto repair blunder or unconventional fix. Use your woe to help others avoid similar mistakes or share off-the-wall solutions that worked ... at least for a while!

You mean like the time my 68 Montego overheated and blew the seam of the top of the radiator? I limped to a mom and pop grocery store and the old timer there brought out some cornmeal and channel locks and I was on my way back home. The cornmeal filled the cracks and I drove the car 200 miles back home to Seattle across the pass. All this while towing a tent trailer.
