So I've seen many post about exhaust, but I'm undecided on what type of mufflers I would like to switch to any suggestions would get me going. I just want more growl out of the car (03 MM). Also I'm in SE Michigan so if anyone lives in the area here is your chance to recommend your buddy's exhaust shop who has reasonable prices. Chain shops are fine also. Thanks....

Start with removing the rear cats. If that's not enough then change the mufflers to MagnaFlow.

I have flowmaster delta 50's. They sound amazing with it being just loud enough to get your attention but not loud enough to attract attention. They have a deep throaty growl that constantly turns heads. Very little drone inside. I received compliments all the time for how well it sounded.

However, I recently installed long tube headers and swapped in an Eaton blower and now the exhaust a bit too loud for my liking. I will be switching to Borla ProXS in the near future.

I had them installed at my local Monroe Muffler and they did an outstanding job. Cost about $150. Just make sure to ask them to use all stainless hardware.

P.S. My used Flowmaster Delta 50's will be for sale at some point. *wink wink*

I had Aero AT2525's installed last year with everything else left stock and they sounded great but we're still very quite under normal driving. I had the rear cats removed last week and now my Marauder is LOUD when you mash the gas but still surprisingly tame if you control your right foot. I think it's perfect now!

First, resonator delete.

Then if not low enough (not enough rumble), flowmaster 40's.

I've recieved umpteen complements at how tough, deep, and manly my cars sound.

I have Flowmaster 40s on mine, but I also have an X-pipe and high-flow cats...not sure how the sound would translate to an otherwise stock exhaust.
