A special shout out to all MM.netters who have been sending links, and especially to COREYM75 who sent me a PM on a 19,000 great Aunt owned, mint, always garaged, never driven in weather, showroom fresh CV SPORT.

Being the first person to call and speak with the owner, one of the nicest and most honest people both Corey and I have spoken with in buying cars, Corey went 80+ miles out of his way and spent well over an hour testing/driving/racing (hahaha), photographing, filming, and checking every area of this car.

He reported back that it is an honest "Unicorn" CV SPORT at a very fair price.

Story from owner and niece who inherited car was that it was driven twice per month to Church when the weather was nice-Nearly spotless clean inside, leather and paint like new, supposed original tires, Great Uncle was a car guy--and put plastic down in trunk and on carpets when the grandkids got in. Uncle and Aunt loved car and called it "Vic!"

Problem is/was... 20 year old Niece just did not appreciate the car the same way her Aunt and Uncle, and all of us do.

After doing all of the above, Corey simply stated, "If you don't buy it, I'd like to!"

Having had three low mile CV Sports slip away, and with the EPIC LEAD, ASSIST, and HARD WORK from CoreyM75, and the help from a car loving, extremely honest owner -- I figured it was meant to be and bought it.

Grand Rapids to OKC... and then OKC to California.

Would love to get some meet ups along the way.

Still working on the wheels and tires issue.

All ideas welcome. WHEN/WHERE IS MARAUDERVILLE?

Nice "score" Grant but what's wrong with the CV Sport wheels??

I think they look great!!

Looks good. Sounds like patience paid off. I happen to like the stock wheels. Just my opinion, I'd keep it a CV sport. No Marauder parts. Especially since it's so original and you already have a couple MMs. Either way, enjoy it!

If you come down I-44 and would like to inspect your new rig before the final leg, I have a lift and such. 3 parts vics. And a place to sleep for the night if need be. Pm me if you need anything on your trip through.

And I'll vote keep it stock other than the wheels and tint.

Congrats Grant. The car is very, very nice. Almost too nice to daily drive.

There's a few Mustang rim choices out there that look good, just not as good as the Sport rims.

The only other wheels I would consider is the MM lookalike Mustang wheels.

Congrats man! So is that a 03? Idk, buddy of mine has that color 03 and I slipped up calling it a DTR one evening. Boy was I wrong and got schooled on it

I'm surprised your not taking I 80 across, skipping okc and Kansas City all together. Anyway, I believe Chris Curless will be here in town kc. For a power tour in early June

I think it would be cool if you rolled with him headed south, just a thought

Lower it, put some wheels on it and kenne bell mustang blower it :)

Thanks all! Dad lives in OKC, so hard not to stop in and visit. Plus I love the Route 66 schtuff.

If I cruise 80 I can visit 2.4shofast in Utar...

I also like the car stock... I like the style of the 17 inch stock wheels, to me they are just a little too small... Even if you "rubber up" a size or two with stiff sidewall tires. I tried this once, and there is just a little too much wheelwell space. I don't want to spend big money on great tires, knowing they will still be too small. If the stock fan blades came in 18 or 19 inch and were more polished, that's what I would do.

So keep the wheel pictures and Ideas coming. I don't need to make it a Marauder clone, but
I do love the Mustange/Marauder wheels. Am completely open to wheels that are understated but substantial!

Once I get a bearing on times to fly n drive I will let ya'll know.

Also I didn't see any mm.net atta boys for Corey's time and effort. YOU ALL are what make this site so fantastic!

Mackdombles

I really like the 5 spokes. These are 19 inch Mustang wheels. Not the first set I've seen on a panther but Damn clean and look as if they belong.

* shoulder pat on Corey *
He also saved my butt and helped me find a guy in Wichita Kansas off the cv site that was able to pull a header panel off a salvage lot car. I then drove 2 hours to pick it up. There were zero header panels here in town
Thank you Corey :)

Am running 255/45x18 at all 4 corners.

Recently replaced the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW NTs
http://www.gdmjoe.com/gforcekdw.jpgGREAT tire for dry|wet traction, however, VERY NOISEY.

Replaced with Yokohama S Drive
http://www.gdmjoe.com/yokohama-s-drive.jpgHave only had them for a few months but am very satisfied with 'em - GREAT dry|wet traction and quiet even a highway+ speeds.

im not sure if having a taller tire in back is an issue for abs/traction control on a CV. didyou look into that?

Yes, it is same as Marauder.

Have same tires on HPP now. Although theCV.net folks are all atwitter... I've had no issues on current. Thanks for call out though.

The car was dropped off last night.. as I have stated before I can't post pics on the site so that sucks... nice looking car, test drive is happening right meow. LOF, stainless brake line install, electronic flush, T-stat replacement, battery replacement, a/c service, new wheel and tire install, Curless Cure install, general once over and you should be good to go!

This is a team win. Without The previous owner being 100% honest and trustworthy, Corey being such a fantastic MM.net member, and burning hours of his personal time and car knowledge (not carnal knowledge), and without Curless, again a 100% honest and trustworthy MM.net member, and car wizard... Without all three of these people aligning in a timely manner, there is no way we could have done this. The last low mile sport sold before I could close the deal, I swore that the next one was meant to be ours.

Again, a group/team win. If this car ever goes for sale, both get 1st dibs!

Can't wait to see it!

UPDATE

Picked up car at Curless' in Grand Rapids. Thank you Chris for the great work on the car. It drives as new.

BONUS! Chris took my brother and I for a ride in his SC Marauder and "left a couple of big S's" in the street. My brother had never been in an SC car, and the look on his face was priceless. I think he finally understands my love of cars.

Chris also took time to take us to a great breakfast in Grand Rapids. We then headed to Chicago to the beginning of Rt66.

I will write up and post pictures if ya'll are interested.

Photo's to follow if ya'll want to see them.
