I have an 03 black MM with the original exterior paint peeling. I am planning on bringing her in to get a full paint job some time at the end of the summer. In the mean time, I would like to take care of some of the areas that need to be touched up. I bought the black touch-up paint from the Ford dealer that comes with a tiny brush for the smaller areas. I spoke to Ford about a "spray" option for the larger areas, however they directed me to NAPA or Pep Boys. Anyone know of a black touch-up option that comes in a spray that I can use for now? Thank you in advance.

go to a auto body supply place that sells to bodyshops. paints, fillers, spray guns, etc. most of them can mix paint via paint code into a spray can. i did that for a cv sport i had to paint a honeycomb grille surround and they had clear coat in a can too as it was a base coat. Napa stores that sell auto paint can usually do it. there are places online that sell auto paint in cans that match good.

If your going to get it painted at the end of the summer, just leave it alone, why make a mess?

Usually I would agree, but if you saw the patches of missing paint and some of the bare metal, you would want to do something about it immediately too.

In that case, Red Scotch Brite pad the bad spots, then buy spray can of either dark Self-Etch primer, or black enamel paint. Very temporary band-aid.
